Yes, it replaces them with a quiet windy sound. The file defines a part of the soundscape for a level. The actual metal squeak is "squeak_metal2".
Here's a fix for those who get motion sickness from the controller sway, or for those who just generally dislike it. It completely removes the sway: Drive.google.com

In my game the flash drive didn't spawn. You can spawn them yourself with "fore_bandit_flash" and "fore_bandit_pda".
Can you release the 1.4002 as a separate patch too?
In the forest bandit mine task from Voronin, the flash drive seems to be nowhere in there. However you can spawn it to yourself with "fore_bandit_flash" and complete the quest that way.
Why is Shadow5 downvoted? That's exactly what they said, and that's exactly how the internal patch up there works. No need to start a new game if you come from 1.4001
