I'd suggest hex edition to avoid overwriting. What about protou.xml techtreeu.xml and datapu.bar xD? Hex edition is pretty simple.

There are some game limitations which force the dev to use campaign stuff, and things are screwed up accordingly.

Also, why the hell would you play vanilla campaign with WoL, given the fact that WoL changed so many things?

Anyway it's great that you have shown a sign of life. I wish you the best with this mod and with your studies. Hopefully you'll be able to release something this year :D ;)
