Following the battle of Coruscant at the end of the Imperial Civil War, the majority of the former Krayt Loyalists suddenly found themselves without the support of their Sith masters and promptly returned to the Fel Empire. It came as a slap to the face to the Alliance when the late Empress Marasiah Fel unofficially pardoned the treasonous elements of the Empire, instead directing her energy towards rebuilding a nation. However, not all those who fought for the One Sith returned to Bastion and many have since, for various reasons, sworn loyalty to new masters beginning a new era of warlordism.

Following the Imperial Civil War, those who stood with Darth Krayt and the Sith had two choices before them; return to the Empire under its true rulers or to turn their back on the Fel dynasty. Be it out of fear of reprisal for war crimes, differing idealogical persuasions or dangerous ambitions.

The laughingstock of the One Sith and weakling in the eyes of the majority of his peers. The only saving grace of Lord Ravenous was his total devotion to the Empire and effective command of the Third Sith Imperial Strike Force, he was one of the very few Sith which the non-Sith actually liked if not admired. This sympathetic persona and pro-Imperial attitude resulted in the emergence of a cult of personality, it even attracted several other, weak Sith.

When Darth Krayt was slain and Darth Nihl instructed all Sith to slink away into the shadows, Lord Ravenous disregarded his direct superior and instead sought to preserve what little of the Sith Empire remained under his command. The majority of his forces remained loyal, Ravenous solidified his power base in Bakura and created the Constitutional Protectorate of Bakura. In doing so he not only established himself as a warlord in the eyes of the galaxy but also as a renegade Sith Lord.
