This time, arriving on Coruscant, was not a salesperson but the chief executive officer herself. This was a momentous occasion, one which had been pushed through the board of directors and could only properly be signed by the company's leader. That said, there were still some things to consider and discuss.

So once again the bureaucrats had their day in the park to reach an appointment with the Alliance military for the contract, this time the positive previous engagement made is slightly easier to gain a foothold this time.

_______

The rising megacorporation's shuttle landed, this time carrying more security and aides than the first time around. Their chief executive officer, a Chiss whose core name was Evalin, strode along into the Alliance facility with a determined glance. Part of her wondered if she would meet Supreme Commander Gar Stazi here for the negotiations, though perhaps the old Duros had since retired or deemed the business of the Alliance army less important than the navy, he was an admiral first and foremost after all.

Evalin had been fully briefed and thoroughly interviewed officer Sova on the previous meeting with senator Kuiras and general T'zorl.

Senator Kuiras and General T'zorl were awaiting the next round of negotiations with the Armara Corporation, surrounded by the usual group of lawmakers and advisors. Silence dominated the room for several minutes, the senators was watching the general stare in stoic silence at the door. It was the senator that broke the silence first.

"Tell me T'zorl... Will be intelligence be joining us again?" Kuiras asked. "Intelligence have no further interest in this matter. As far as I know." He responded.
"Oh really?. What do you know about it then T'zorl?" the senator probed.
"I know to let intelligence do what intelligence does."

Kuiras was about to say something with a protocol droid informed them that the CEO of Armara had arrived, and they rose to their feet to welcome the guests.

Evalin entered the room displayed textbook diplomatic feigned emotions. One well practice smile, extra care to avoid wandering eyes and a dignified yet approachable stance. Standard theatrics for high level negotiations.

The Chiss woman was flanked by a pair of bookish aides, carrying her affects as well as various communication devices and datapads. Close behind them, just the single security person wearing a simple cap and armoured vest. In the unlikely scenario there was an emergency, his only directive was to catch blaster bolts and ensure the person paying him made it out of danger safely. Barely a threat, really. Especially without any weapons.

But that's private security, Armara relied on its connections with actual law enforcement and local militaries. Ironic, given that they create weaponry and protective gear.

_________

"Senator Kuiras," Evalin says with a respectful nod. "General Tzorl. It is a true pleasure to meet you both. I am thankful that you have chosen Armara for your needs, I am certain we will be a great contribution to the Alliance and I am excited for what future partnerships may yet be."

Evalin chuckles innocently, placing a hand before her mouth.

"I apologise, I'm getting ahead of myself. Shall we get started?"

"Welcome to Coruscant chief executive Evalin." the senator says. The general curtly nods. She continues; "It bodes well for these negotiations that we have heard much about the efforts you are making our on behalf, though we figured the incentive might just be irresistible. Please have a seat, refreshments are available should you wish for anything." the senator and the general sits down.

"So the question at hand is.. to what extent can you accommodate our requirements. They are not immediate, but the long term projection are non the less important. The Chief of State have issued a mandate that we diversify our corporate contracts, and the Armara corporation is one of many that we are reaching out to." Kuiras adds.

T'zorl preempts the senator from saying anything else by saying; "Lets get started then. We are all busy people no doubt."

Slightly irritated the senator acknowledges the statement with a gentle nod and a wave of the hand indicating that Evalin may begin her presentation.

The Armara chief helped herself to a glass of water. If all goes well, that bottle of exquisite Daruvvian champagne will be uncorked to celebrate the signing of a very successful and very lucrative contract.

"No doubt you have been informed that 40,000 units are already underway. The Empire was very accommodating and provided this remains to be the case, we estimate that every Alliance soldier will be equipped with our products within four quarters. That is to say, within the galactic standard year."

With all the pomp and grace of a shrewd diplomat, Evalin begins to gesticulate in order to add levity and weight to her well practised spiel.

"Naturally, this is a very special contract for us at Armara. We would be remiss if we didn't live up to the expectations of our client and I believe the Alliance will be pleasantly surprised with our initiative. We promised you the future soldier package, we intend to deliver on that."

As she spoke one of the aides began to set-up and link to the holoprojectors in the room, within a half-second of Evalin finishing her statement the projector sprung to life and displayed a myriad of recognizable products. The marketing team over at Armara, despite being rushed, did an excellent job to promote the products and give them visual appeal. Based on feedback from the previous meeting, they were more oriented towards numbers and efficiency ratings to satisfy the economically-minded senator and the discerning general looking to improve troop effectiveness.

"When last we showed you our next generation Alliance trooper, we showed you simple one baseline variant. Though effective in its own right, no self-respecting military in this day and age would want to find itself without specialist gear to meet various circumstances head on. From the vacuum of space to the inhospitable lava rivers of Mustafar, Armara will ensure the soldier of the Alliance will lack for nothing and will be well equipped for any scenario."

"We have no doubts as to the quality of your product, having conducted our own tests. They are sufficient." T'zorl says, uncaring of the pomp and grace.

"But how do you intend to guarantee logistical concerns? Are there strategic concerns involved in your production lines and distribution centers?"

Before Evalin can answer, the Senator further adds, "While we admire the speed with which you can provide us with the material. We would prefer a slower supply of material. Perhaps one that spans no less than three years. Both on the account of the yearly budgets, but also to make sure that there are no unforeseen teething issues with production."

"Well," Evalin closed her eyes and offered an innocent smile. "I'm sure our design team won't object to more development time. I imagine that in those three years we'll be able to create even better products for your needs."

Evalin pondered the question posed by general T'zorl regarding logistics and his other concerns. True, Fondor was newly opened and it was unknown for how long the Empire would keep its borders open for shipments.

"Rest assured, we will honour our contract and ensure the Alliance will receive its products. By signing the contract, Armara will be obligated by galactic laws to do so. Regardless, we have our reputation to consider and it would reflect poorly on the company if we failed, wouldn't it?"

She extended an arm to her side and an aide promptly pressed a datapad in her hand.

"Let's see, a contract of at minimum three years. In that time, even without our facility on Bonadan we'll be able to meet your expectations. However, there was another topic I would like to discuss, time permitted."

"Very well." the general says, as the senator is conversing with some of the advisors.

The senator returns his attention to Evalin. "Time does permit I believe, though I suppose it depends on how much else there is to negotiate."

"Simply put, over time we would like to take on more contracts with the Alliance military; on the table right now is mainline infantry armour and a standard-issue rifle and sidearm, over time we'd like to extend this to other ordnances such as explosives, man-portable ordnance launchers and even light vehicles."

Kuiras had to make an effort to disguise his first reaction to what he saw as Evalin and her corporation being outright greedy. This contract was barely signed and already they were probing for additional deals. One would think a deal worth billions of credits was a good enough start to a business venture. Kuiras proceeds to say;

"Perhaps that is on the tables for the future, but for now our interests are limited towards this procurement." Kuiras paused for a moment chewing on her next words. "As I've said, we have mandate to diversify our procurement chains and manufacturing bases for all military armaments. Not to mention that it is always in everyone's best interest to allow for a period of trust to build" Kuiras said to Evalin.

General T'zorl add to that; "For now, the immediate needs of the army are met, or soon to be. If there is nothing else, we should proceed to signing the contract. I assume you have something prepared?"

"Of course. You'll have to forgive me my enthusiasm, I am simply very excited to make the most of this arrangement and work closely with the Alliance."

Once again, Evalin extended a hand and magically an aid understood the meaning behind it, pressing a stylus into her hand. She signed her initials onto the datapad and slid it across the table.

"The agreed upon three-year contract for the future soldier package. Plus technical support, plus variations. There are a few provisions in there, should the Alliance wish to renegotiate the contract."

The senator takes the datapad and begin to review it, he sends a copy to the various other people assembled in the room, notably not the general whom is entirely disinterested anyway.

Upon competition of the review some time later. The senator adds his signature to the datapad;

Armament Procurement Committee, Senator Tyrsas Kuiras

and hands it to the general, who also ads his;

Fifth Army Core, General Vox Alrimidas T'zorl

"Congratulations to Armara, the contract is yours. We look forward to a long, and beneficial, relationship between your corporation and the Alliance." The senator says and stands up to shake Evalins hand.

OOC: Should a document is some sort be made for the Alliance folder? For the sake of future people whom might just want the details without looking first for the event and then reading the entire thing?

OOC: Maybe, could you write it in your Alliance folder? I already have it written in the Armara article.

Evalin shakes the senator's hand, an aid produces some exquisite glasses and a bottle of Daruvvian champagne. The aid, saying her first words since arriving; proposes a toast to the successful signing of the contract.

Description

One massive loan and a surprisingly understanding affirmation from the Fel Empire later, 40.000 units of the future soldier package were shipped. The company was ready to ship 20.000 initially but in the aftermath of the talks on Coruscant removed the items from their catalogue and ramped up production. Additionally, they relocated their premier headquarters to Fondor in a massive and very costly effort along with establishing manufacturies on the planet as well.

This did not come without backlash or problems. Though nominally a smaller corporation, there were still numerous individual pieces of weaponry and armour out there that would soon be adopted by the Alliance military. In addition, it was one of their most popular products and numerous customer complaints rained in at the sudden announcement that the products became exclusive and replacement units would not be offered.

At least some form of warranty compensation was offered as free repairs and maintenance for existing units, though customers would be encouraged to simply exchange the items for non-exclusive products at a reduced fee.

It was still ridiculous in a sense. The company sent over a sales person to secure a contract with one general for a handful of units, instead they were to rapidly assume the mantle of the Alliance's foremost and only producer of trooper equipment. Millions of soldiers outfitted with Armara products and given the company's technical support. Not only was the scale and production an issue, research and development became overwhelmed with new orders almost overnight. Expectedly, due to the exclusivity the designers had to create replacement products to fill the gap in the catalogue. More importantly, they had to create variants for every sort of battlefield imaginable that an Alliance soldier might find themselves in.

Space, desert, forest, jungle, snow, urban, high-low altitude, elite, specialised. The list was enormous and that is just the armour. Weapons were another beast.
