Ok, We all know that the war on drugs is a farce; over the course of 40+ years we have achieved absolutely nothing: Addiction rates are still climbing, the price of drugs have also sky rocketed and for all the money we have thrown at it, we have nothing to show for our efforts.
What we need to do is to come up with a much better, and much cheaper solution. Not every drug is harmless and there are some serious consequences associated with certain drug use, if we legalize -most if not all- drugs we cut the problem. We have the benefit of taxation and we can moderate the amount which a person uses within a week or a month. We just need to approach the situation with caution and not brute force.
I dont really know what to say on this topic. On the one hand I see that the wars on drugs are a useless waste of money, on the other hand I would like to see that stuff vanishing completle from this world and eradicate the genes that even allow addictions to happen in the first place. :-/ Guess legalisation and control are the best possible ways to deal with it.
Portugal legalized use, then use rates dropped. A northern European country who's name escapes me gives or at least at one time game out heroin to addicts and death rates went down.
And well, its just silly. Alcohol is actually more poisonous yet no one is demanding it be made illegal. We all know how well prohibition went; the substance in particular doesn't matter, if there's demand there will be a market.
Naturally we should legalize, tax, & control the quantities one can hold of the weaker drugs, such as marijuana. Stronger drugs, such as heroine, meth, acid, etc. should still be kept completely illegal though in my opinion. They pose too much of a health risk to the drug abusers (SOMEBODY needs to take care of the ignorant imbeciles which populate this country, considering they can't make good choices on their own) and to those around them.
Legalize everything and watch all this "degradation in society" stuff NOT happen. Yea, I'm actually serious, legalizing narcotics wouldn't really create any problems.

Almost anything can be used as drug. Some synthetic drugs are made from medicaments. Think what happens if you don't use them properly.
Marijuana has good effects in medicine, cocaine derivatives were used as local anesthetics, opium as well.
Those guys on picture will soon be HAPPY...
I say: who wants to be on drugs, he will find one. I hate drugs. But marijuana has more use.
I thought the same lol.
Regardless, the Dutch and some other countries have it right. Drug control is better to its destruction.
