Iranian Faction - WIP

Morning Everybody!


Iranian team finally came to the fight.



Well, I'm proudly announce to you the entry of the IRAN team. Still WIP. I had done a lot of small updates and small upgrades on the game. Some features was added, others scrapped. Well, most things are going on a very nice pace.

Features:

- Teams are now slightly different each others; it have different management. Units have different features. For instance, the T55 have a very high chance of miss fire and the M1 Abrams, with thermals and other shoot guidance have more accuracy

- US is more focused on air defense, helicopters and have more modern tanks. Iran and Iraq are almost same gameplay.

Fixes:

- Constant lagging is now almost none.

- NPC faction attacks more often.

- Difficult was significantly hardened despite the video below where I do a rush attack.

Really love to see infantry fight hope it in squad or fire team :/

It is a squad.
It have currently Infantry squad AT squad and the sniper team.
Infantry Squad contains:
-1 squad leader who captures structures;
-3 regular rifleman;
-1 Automatic assault weapon
-1 Field medic

AT Squad contains:
-2 AT Rocket soldiers
-1 Grenadier with Rifle
-1 Grenadier

Sniper have:
-1 Sniper
-1 Spotter (in his abstinence, the sniper have its range shortened)

Hello there.
The operational system should be able to handle more than 4GB.
In this case, a Win10 or equivalent is better.

Overall, I like the concept of what you are trying to do here but I do have a major concern. I appreciate that you are going for visual realism regarding the units, and I like the attention to detail there, but I also feel that if all units are just "clones" of each other, the finer points of these real conflicts will be completely lost on the player. I'm just not sure how you can make an RTS based on the Gulf War and not address the massive delta in quality between Western and Iraqi forces, even just in equipment. In no way is a M1A1 anything like a T-55 or T-62, from a simulation or game play perspective.

Have you given thought then to creating an asymmetric game mode where US Forces have their historical advantages while Iraqi must use asymmetric threats to challenge their opponents?

If you are looking for more of an even fight then I would suggest modeling the Iran-Iraq War. There is a lot of ways to do this, but I just don't know if simple unit modelling across the board is the way to do this, it just will not hold up to any semblance of realism.

Keep in mind my comments come from the position of a simulation wargamer, and while I get that you are not trying to make a full simulator and rather an RTS, I still think some real thought should be applied here to the type of experience you want to bring. Why use realistic visual models if that is all it is?

Thanks a lot! It's obviously in a early stage of development. And those tweaks will be taken on account. The game is based on historical events, but in any form i want to redo or make a reproduction of those events. I'm doing same thing Command and Conquer Generals sort of did with 2001 operation iraqi freedom. Using those events as background. And for the units, it's a preference. But those peculiarities of each would be taken account for sure.
