StarCrawlers is a modern take on a classic dungeon crawling CRPG with a cyberpunk flavor. The central story involves a massive colony ship, the Stella Marin, that has drifted into your sector on the fringes of space, its colonists and crew mysteriously vanished. You run a crew of freelance adventurers, and you'll investigate the ship and its strange history as you take on jobs from powerful megacorps all of whom have their own agendas regarding the ship and its secrets. You'll also get plenty of jobs that take you off the ship, to raid corp facilities, other ships, and even planets. The Narrative AI procedurally generates missions and maps based on your past decisions, reputation with various factions and a variety of different factors. Whether you're raiding a pirate hulk or extracting data from a corp, your dungeon will be custom built to match with interactive environments, traps, loot and enemies. StarCrawlers features strategic RPG style combat with a time unit based action system.

  • Classic first person dungeon crawling in a detailed sci-fi universe

So far I love the game, but I have been running into problems with the game crashing. I have run the Triangulatin' quest twice now and both times as I finish the quest by agreeing to give the data cores to Aurora Starliners the game has crashed. I would really love to get past this point.

I bought a copy of this a few days ago from GOG (version 1.0.2) from 4th of July 2017, at the moment.

I very quickly found a game-breaking bug, so I tried to contact them through the contact form on their website.
Trying several times, every single time I get the reply 'Failed! The error occured, message is not sent. Please try again later. ' when I validate.

Posting below the text I tried to send them, if they still read here, and for info for potential buyers of this game:

--------------------------------------------------------------------
I bought your game from GOG a few days ago.

After a few runs, I was very surprised to find some faction ratings getting very low very quickly (which there did not seem to be a reason for), so on my last run I picked a mission with only a low objective (+2 to a faction which was at 0, no negative factions results).
I went out of my way NOT to steal anything from that faction, nor do anything which could be considered hostile to them, and just before exiting the mission map, the faction rating was still at 0.

So, I exited the mission map, got the report that the faction was very pleased and that I was getting +2 as expected.

Then I immediately looked at that faction rating... it was now at -18

No good, scrapping this game until you fix this.

Besides this, I found that the RNG seemed to be rigged against the player, with fail rates in combats sometimes as high as 80% over the whole battle, against opponents same level who rarely missed.
Same apparently RNG 80/20 odds against the player on items interactions, for instance with terminals, using hacker.

This led me to make a save before every single action, which is really becoming tedious and should not be necessary.

Let me add that I am very experienced players at RPGs and this type of game (for instance I kept playing the old Captive for a few years).

Hi Arodeth, sorry I missed your post earlier. You'll be fighting multiple enemy types - not only robots, but space pirates, mercs, corporate security and alien creatures as well. There will also be plenty of security systems and traps that you'll have to disarm/dodge or risk drawing in security drones and other foes. Glad to see people excited for StarCrawlers!

Usually I'm not a fan of round-based combat like that, but the sci-fi setting caught my interest. Until I read the words "endless" and "procedurally generated". Pass.

This looks fantastic! I've been looking for a game like this for a long time now. And this one looks like it will hit the spot :) forgive my curiosity but u dont always run into a game like this, so i have some questions; how many types of "mobs" do u plan to implement? can we expect other "marines" or pirates perhaps? creatures? or perhaps security computers that when triggered, take measures to halt your progress, maybe even turn the environment hostile? oh man. Even this one trailer is good enough to get me excited. Combat looks really good. I wish u guys good luck, keep up the good work!

The robots are too cute, I think I'd rather pet them than kill them!
