In 1986, the world's worst nuclear disaster occurred at the Chernobyl power station. Soviet authorities established a 30km 'Exclusion Zone' around this nuclear wasteland, but in 2006 a second explosion rocked the stricken reactor, obliterating all living things and causing the Zone's boundaries to ripple outwards. From this epicenter came waves of mutated creatures, deadly radiation, and a strange, anomalous energy. The Zone was cordoned off by the military, who would shoot on sight anyone foolish enough to brave the horrors within.
Nice!! I have an php script for do that similar (I made the main work fron Dead Air to spanish translation with it).
Some tips:
- Massive replaces. Some languages translates repeating words incorrect. For example "Stalker" :) In spanish translates for "acosador" what not fits in the game. What I made is a massive replace searching: " WORD ", " WORD.", " WORD,"... Maybe you could make an optional modal with more "free way" for replace in all files.
- Some people report that DeepL translates better than Google. Maybe could be an optional source of translation, it has an api.
- Of course, translate destination to all languages supported by Google and DeepL :)
I also think massive replace is an important function, i'll try to incorporate this soon.
I took a look at DeepL but API is sadly not free; i'll try anyway to incorporate DeepL translations. Google has a free API, i'll try to do some tests with it.
Languages choices will expand, it's planned.
Thanks for your comment and for the tips, feel free to suggest others ideas or needs, i take note of all the advice.
Oh well , that looks great!
Keep it up :D
tnx
I dunno a bit about how this works...How does it translate? Is it Google Translator levels of translation? (Broken English)
Or Yandex translate levels of translation? (Not so Broken English)
I'm really a newbie towards this and I wanted to know such detail.
Hi.
Actually, translations have to be made manually. A direct link to Google translate is available in the program, pre-filling fileds with selected sentences.
In the future, more translations engine will be included, as well as the integration of Google translate API, to automate things a bit.
I just saw Yandex also provides an API, I'll have to do some tests with it.
For further informations on how translations are made, a help file is included in the archive with a chapter "How it works", you can take a look in it.
