Half-Life: Opposing Force is an expansion pack for Valve Software's science fiction first-person shooter video game Half-Life. The game was developed by Gearbox Software and published by Sierra Entertainment on November 1, 1999. Opposing Force is the first expansion for Half-Life and was first announced in April 1999. Randy Pitchford, the lead designer on the game, later noted that he believed Gearbox was selected to develop Opposing Force because Valve wanted to concentrate on their future projects. Over the course of development, Gearbox brought in a variety of outside talent from other areas of the video games industry to help bolster various aspects of design. Opposing Force returns to the same setting as Half-Life, but instead portrays the events from the perspective of a U.S. Marine, one of the enemy characters in the original game. The player character, Adrian Shephard.
The official update patch for upgrading and downgrading Half-Life Retail WON versions to v1.1.1.0. This can only be used in the WON Retail CD versions of Half-Life. This is also used to make the Xash3D engine run properly as it needs v1.1.1.0 to work.
(buried)
Please upload as zip i don't trust this
If this has some sort of malware, then how did it pass staff verification?
hey, when i try to install it, theres appear a message saying that i dont select the same directory of the game and yes i did it
Is it the WON Version? If it is, normal directory should be in "C:/Sierra/Half-Life." If you install the Half-Life WON Version in any directory other than C:/Sierra/Half-Life, it wont work so reinstall Half-Life in the C:/Sierra/Half-Life directory.
[If you use Steam It won't work]
It won't work in my PC.
When I try to install this patch, it shows the error: "You do not have enough free disk space on the drive you are attempting to install to. Please free up 651625 MB and restart the Half-Life 1.1.1.0 installation." I have a enough disk space. how to solve this issue?
Try Running hl1110.exe at Windows XP compatibility
I tried to change compatibility from "Properties" menu, but "Compatibility" tab doesn't show up. I also tried Compatibility Assistant and set compatibility to Windows XP (Service Pack 3), but still won't work. How to solve this problem?
Half-Life Spanish is?
it keeps telling me im installing the half life update into an invalid directory
10/10 Would bug again.
God, I love these kind of versions.
Does version 1.1.1.0 have the same aesthetic as 1.0.0.9, with the strafing and whatnot?
Comparing this to version 1.0, the view model doesn't tilt, it moves back and forth instead. And there's no view rolling when strafing, which was also present in 1.0. I haven't used 1.0.0.9 so I don't know the specifics, but I hope this info will help you.
Windows , Mac , Linux , PS2
PS2 ?
Does this patch bring ANY version up to v1.1.1.0 or does Half-Life have to be 1.1.0.0 or something before being updated with this? This page makes it sound like it does... Moddb.com
Yes. This is used to update versions older than v1.1.1.0 to v1.1.1.0.
Okay, thanks for your reply!
Just for clarification, this is the actual update file that was included by Valve/Sierra in a Half-Life retail disk of mine (don't know if it's in some other disks as well). I'm sure Valve/Sierra themselves will never give you a virus.
