Ok so to make teleports all you really need is a brush and an entity. To start go to the place you want to teleport FROM and make a box with the trigger texture. Select the box , press Ctrl+T and tie it to trigger_teleport.(Fig 1)
Now go over to were you want to teleport TO and create an entity called info_teleport_destination, select it and press Alt+enter to bring up the properties and give it a name such as "teleport1" or "end".
Now go back to the box you made select it and press Alt+enter to bring up properties and click on remote destination and select what ever you named your info_teleport_destination (See Fig 2)
And thats it :D

Now if you want to make a more advanced one you could always use the concepts used in the weapon dispenser tutorial where a player could select their destination on a screen and be teleported there when they enter the trigger.

Question: Does it have to have the trigger texture? I learned how to make a teleporter on my own, athe very first one worked, but ever since then you can never see the teleporters, nor do the place where they should be teleport you.
How would I add a sound when the player gets teleported? I have done everything and it obviously works, and I have added lights to it so when the player gets beamed they see a flash of white light, but it is not complete without the sound...
strange... it won't work for me...
