On a routine exploration mission in 2190 A.D., science vessel FMM UV discovered a planet with suitable climate for humankind. During the initial scouting expedition, this young planet, code-named FMM UV-32, was declared inhospitable for colony life, due to its unstable terrain and immense population of prehistoric reptiles.

News of this amazing planet spread, and articles on the "Dinosaur Planet" lead an earth corporation to purchase the rights to the planet and create DinoHunt Corp. DinoHunt creates the opportunity for paying customers to become dinosaur hunters for the first time in 50 million years.

You are the newest client of DinoHunt Corp. Each location is unique, with varying difficulties and terrain. The new hunter will be given three choices, with two more added for the advanced hunter, and a final area for the expert hunter, for a total of six locations. Keep in mind that regardless of which dinosaur you choose to hunt, there are others living on the islands that do not appear on your radar - you may be hunting a Stegosaurus and be surprised by a Velociraptor.

The Carnivores Saga - Banner

Well then - hello there,

Welcome to The Carnivores Saga, a long-standing community that originally was centered on the Carnivores video game series but has grown much larger since those humble days.
We are a community of dinosaur enthusiasts, video gamers, modders, programmers, artists, content creators and much more!

The purpose of this group is to help keep our community organized on ModDB and to assist in spreading awareness of little-known mods made by our community.

Feel free to discuss all things Carnivores, but please keep this group clean and safe for work, remember that if you wouldn't say it to your grandmother, please don't say it here.
We would also prefer that political topics and drama would not be discussed in this group, thank you.

We look forward to seeing all the amazing things our community has and will create, good hunting out there!

A classic right here. It changed hunting games because now the animals hunt you back and oh yeah THEY ARE DINOSAURS!. Its a very basic game compared to its sequels it almost feels more like a demo when compared to Carnivores 2. You can choose from only 3 weapons and you can only bring 1 weapon on the hunt with you. There is no double ammo so no reload animations no sun glare on the weapons no blood trails like in carnivores 2 and a lot of the trees and objects featured in the maps is pretty basic it also does not include very much content. There are 7 dinosaurs to choose from. You also can not choose what time of day you wanna hunt in.

But the things it does it does well it has a great feel and atmosphere. The weapons while basic all function well the dinosaurs are fun and were really realistic for the time it was released. The maps while small are full of character you really feel like you are in some alien world you never feel safe. Carnivores 1 has its own simple charm its a shame its so hard to actually get working on modern systems.
