The sun is rising and the tanks are moving forward in preparation of attack. The enemy is unaware of our presence and the morale is high. This attack could turn the table on the battlefields of North Africa. Take a role of Rommel and command the Panzerarmee Afrika, or as Montgomery, Cunningham, Ritchie or Auchinleck and command the Eight Army.

Attack at Dawn: North Africa is an operational level wargame set in WW2 North African theatre. It features 3 campaigns, and 15 scenarios, which can be played in solo or multiplayer modes. It begins with the German troops probing into the Libyan region of Cyrenaica, and finishes either with the total defeat of German-Italian Panzer Armee, or with the British loss of Egypt and their retreat across the Suez Canal.

MAIN FEATURES

  • The Map: the game features a large map, covering a distance of almost 2000 kilometres – from the bay of Sirte in Libya, to Suez Canal in Egypt. The terrain varies between sea, desert and mountains; wadis and sebkhas; villages, birs and ports. There is one long metallic road – Via Balbia, spanning the whole length of the map. And a handful of well-known desert tracks leading from the road towards the deep Sahara in the south.
  • Intensive Gameplay: the game can be played in a real-time, or turn-based (WeGo) mode. That reflects the speed and chaos of the desert mobile warfare. Combine this with the fog of war, and the experience of being in command vehicle of a Panzer Corps comes to life. The game will immerse you in one of the most intensive and nerve-wrecking experiences of the Second World War.
  • Historical Accuracy: The scenarios have been created after studying the historical orders of battle, and battle histories. Attention was given to the composition of the armies, combat values of individual units and overall authenticity of each scenario.
  • Accurate Scenarios And Campaigns: there are 15 carefully recreated scenarios in the game, which can be played as a solo or multiplayer game, or within solo campaigns. The game features historical scenarios, and speculative scenarios, depicting the what-if situations from the campaign.

The Experience

A whole new strategic gameplay

Attack at Dawn: North Africa is a strategy game set in WW2 North African theatre. You will take command of battalions, brigades, divisions, and air wings.

You can play the game in either Real-Time or Turn-Based (WeGo) mode. These modes mimic the chaos and speed of mobile fighting in the desert. The game will immerse you in one of the most intensive and nerve-wracking experiences of the Second World War.

We have designed all game maps and units to be easy to understand, uncluttered and informative.
Gone is the usual wargame buttons clutter fest. You can choose what your units will look like: top-view models or unit counters. With the ability to zoom out and see the entire battlefield in a glance, you will have the best possible situational awareness.

A huge historical undertaking

The game features campaigns and scenarios - both historical and hypothetical. They have been designed after in-depth research of the historical orders of battle and battle histories. Special attention was given to the composition of the armies, combat values of individual units, and overall authenticity of each scenario.

Attack at Dawn: North Africa features a large map, covering a distance of almost 2000 kilometers and you can use the Scenario Editor provided within the game to create your own scenarios anywhere on this large battleground. Starting at the bay of Sirte in Libya and spreading to Suez Canal in Egypt, the terrain varies between sea, desert, mountains, wadis, ports...
