2K has kicked off a new bundle with the Humble folks celebrating some of their largest commercial successes of all time. 2K's publishing umbrella is surprisingly broad and so too, then, is their mod catalogue - so here's our five picks from games that may or may not be in the bundle, but are certainly some great 2K hits worth modding!
A malevolent entity is slowly altering Tommy's reality, and the disruptions will become more and more severe as the story progresses. The goal is to create a singleplayer, interactivity-driven first-person story that will hopefully appeal to Prey fans and generally to 3DRealms fans, as well as portray some locations that differ from, and have a higher interactivity level than, the usual space stations levels.
This mod based on Frank Herbert's epic Dune saga, features a struggle to control one planet - Dune, Arrakis, a barren desert wasteland which is valuable for one thing only - the spice melange. The spice has the universe addicted to it; it extends life, it allows for the Navigators of the the Spacing Guild to fold space, travel from one point in space to another without moving, it is the basis for the economy and trade of the known universe. The spice is created by Sand Worms, giant creatures that live their whole life in the sand.

Serious Sam 2: Renovation is a global cosmetic mod to ensure the most comfortable Serious Sam 2 experience possible. The mod features an interface closer to the Xbox release of the game, reworked weapon visuals and animations, more satisfying gibbing effects, updated visuals for many enemies, and a ton of other improvements that make this one of the best ways to experience one of Croteam's whackier entries.
Sid Meier’s Railroads!: Intercontinental (here in known as SMRI) has everything you could ask for: Tanks, missiles, cars, money and lots of it, speeds reaching 200 miles per hour, Military bases, horses, cows, cheese, and elfs! As well as train loads of other new goods to transport over twenty new maps. How long would it take you to play all this? Well we estimate that if you only played each map once it take you well over 21 hours, are these action packed hours? No not really, more like relaxingly addictive hours in which you forget to check the clock and realize you have to get to work, an hour ago.
A large total overhaul mod, this mod features much for fans - Kingdom of Ehb, Utraean Peninsula and Yesterhaven are playable from Dungeon Siege and Legends of Aranna is playable if the user has that expansion pack installed. Adds 50 or 60 hours play time to Dungeon Siege 2 or Broken World. Most quests, monsters and npcs are present from the original maps and many weapons, armour and items from Dungeon Siege are also available in Dungeon Siege 2 or Broken World. And that's just the start, with enhanced continuity and features to explore.
On The Border
2K have published some of the most well-known games in the industry, having a hand in the expected titles (like Borderlands, Bioshock, and XCOM), and even some you might not have known were published by 2K like the original Prey. With so many hits it's hard to pick out the best of the best, but Humble Bundle have taken a crack at it with their 2K Megahits bundle, covering hundreds of dollars of quality games for a bargain price.
The Megahits bundle doesn't feature all of 2K's best - Borderlands 2 is noticeably
absent for example - but instead more of their recent success stories
The bundle starts off at $16 and runs until September 22nd - giving you ample time to add to a good cause and add to your games library whilst you're at it!
