Who needs Goldsource when you have GREY SOURCE?
Developed by the Phoenix Project, and used in games such as Lost and Dead & Massacre 1999, Grey Source is a modification of Valve's Goldsource engine.
New technologies introduced by Grey Source
- Adjustments to weapon volumes
- Viewroll (removed from Goldsource by Valve in 2003)
New technologies planned to be introduced by Grey Source
- Better looking shaders
- Support for WAV files up to 44100 Hz
- Support for HD textures
- Support for silhouettes
- Support for sun and moon objects to put in maps for added realism for the time of day
- Support for sun-rays emitted by the sun object

We use the same SDK tools as Half-Life; but there is a Developer Wiki coming soon with extensive documentation on developing for Grey Source, Aura and PhoenixADM.
im intrested of your engine so far that i want to develope a cancelled valve game on it any time you release the source codes or the engine it self just contact me
An older branch of the Grey Source base is available at Github.com
Looks like standard Goldsrc, but with the HD pack for HL.
So far, it is still pretty much similar to standard GoldSource, but as we release more build throughout the year, more changes will be made.
