Barry's Better Axes is an Reanimation & Rebalance for the axes of Anomaly.
It is part one / the standalone version of the animations that will be part of my upcoming "More Melee Features".
More Melee Features is now out on Moddb & contains a slightly better version of this mod!

DLTX & 1.5.2 REQUIRED.
This mod is a complete reanimation of the axes for Anomaly, includes:
Draw
1-Handed Draw
Holster
Walk
Sprint
Idle
Inspect
3 Light Attack Variants
1 Heavy Attack Variant
Transition Poses
The three axes have been changed to two axes & one sledge hammer.
Both axes are identical as one will be replaced in the upcoming Heavy Melee Rework.
The axes can be purchased from T1 of the less formal factions & traders, sledge hammers are T3.
Swinging the axes one handed is possible but deals less damage.
Unique draw for when your left hand is busy.

If for whatever reason you want the original axe models used from misery
(I do not recommend this)
1. delete the item_visual lines & all lines related to icons in the config
2. replace item_position = 0, 0, 0 with 0, 0, 0.1 in the [wpn_axe2_hud] section and youre good to go

models are by n3600 & theothehippo! animations & xray textures are by me, ive moved their names from the credits at the bottom to right under their respective weapon's pictures

could be interesting to actually make the inspect where you rub the blade show the weapon durability hehe

OH MY GOD I LOVE THESE NEW ANIMATIONS SO MUCH. BUT CAN YOU MAKE AXES VERSION 1.5.1 AND UPDATED KNIFE VERSION FOR 1.5.1? BECAUSE I GOT YOUR KNIFE MOD BEFORE, BUT IT WAS AN OLDER VERSION. THANK SO AGAIN SO MUCH!!
no sorry, the whole point of updating the knives was to add the new stuff that uses the new 1.5.2 features. 100% of everything added in the new knife update relies on 1.5.2 exclusive features.
the axe has a lot of things that rely on 1.5.2 as well. there will be no 1.5.1 version of either sorry.
the reason that knife update happened recently and the axes now is 1.5.2 allows them to be possible. they both rely on features not possible in 1.5.1
Thanks for replying. Really love the cool things you have but since i got bunch of custom files that i got from the discord community so i think i will never be ready to move to 1.5.2. Sad that i can't use but keep up the good work!

im using alot of mod like over 100 addon but for example i use Yet Another Winter Mod and its still 1.51 now and i realy hate play stalker with out this addon
yawm works fine on 1.5.2
along with 99.9% of the other mods that say 1.5.1 in the title.
no one is going to "update" their mods for 1.5.2 because they dont have to. they work fine already on 1.5.2

there is no inspect key in vanilla
you need the standalone inspect hotkey if you want to trigger it whenever you want.
