hi...i have changed all files to .big but when i start the game its changing back to .zhe
the mod doesnt work on Steam and Origin....gives an fix or something ? an installation video is too helpful...
I had the same issue on Steam but I managed to get it to work! Run the launcher one to get your settings in place but then close it don't run the game. Do the swap over from .zhe to .big (I ended up using a command prompt to save time) then run Zero Hour directly in Steam. For me this launched the game with the mod without running the launcher which seems to be the thing that kept reverting the file type. Hope this helps you too!

I wrote a Script for Windows to Rename all of the File Extensions with [.zhe] to [.big]. Just create a file named "rename" with the extension [.bat]. in the Folder where these Files are located and paste this code into it >>

that batch didn't work for me, so i put all files needed in an extra folder, run command prompt, changed directory in command prompt to the one where the files are and run "rename *.* *.big" - this command will change every file to .big extension
Thanks to this guide i can start the mod finally! but when i'm in main menu, the reshade thing starts and the game minimizes. When i maximize again everything works fine but there is no sound anymore :(
fixed: i minimized the game by myself before it would automatically and waited a little bit. Then maximized again and it worked. Was playing 5 minutes and now it crashed but hey, 5 minutes! :)
I am the steam version but I found a way to run the game with the launcher.Maybe your can try like this:
Right click the generals.exe - properties - Run as administrator - Compatibility mode - WinXP SP3
And now you can play with the launcher.exe
