This is an update about the new GIN vehicles and tanks.

Posted by on

Hello again, it's time for another update. This time featuring main battle tanks and tanks of the GIN with two new little mechanic being introduced, vehicle demining and tank ambush tactics. So, without further ado, let's get into the SUPER DEEP LORE stuff.

Ever since the end of Second World War and "decolonization" of North Africa by the western powers, the nations may be now free at last but the consequence of that had left a deeply scarred legacy. Countless dreary wreckage, debris and ordnance now laid forgotten in these dunes and coasts.

With the absence of adequate aid from the colonial powers, local salvage crews were assembled to take on these dangerous operations of demining and salvaging to reduce the fatality of these unexploded ordnances and to fund the rejuvenation of the people.

The initial wave of salvage crew had discovered the blueprint of Carro Armato P26/40 that an incompetent Italian officer seemed to left behind in one of the abandoned Italian command posts that seemed to house these blueprints for some reason (that wouldn't ever be explained.)

Risen from the ashes of war, carnage and injustice, the Scorpion Tank was born. Representing the undying will of the people's liberty and resistance to new threats, the Scorpion Tank strikes true with justice and no lack of courage.

Fast forward to recent times, before the fall of the USSR. A large quantity of Soviet military assets including licensing had been purchased in accordance to their good relations and alliance. These included but not limited to the T-62M and T-72B MBT.

Now forward to modern times, the GIN has now fully streamlined and adept to producing these tanks even in vastly dispersed industry. While outdated in many aspects, their proficiency in salvage operations has also led to the utilisation of "junk armour" and "junk repair".

Why waste millions or billions even of ERA or other advanced and intricate defense technology when your could just use these junks to enhance existing tanks or just melt them to make a pristine one?

T-62M MBT or the Marauder Tank, is the standard MBT of choice for the GIN. Despite being nearly qualified as an ancient relic, the T-62M works surprisingly well especially in harsh and remote desert environments where plenty of tunnel networks resides.

Although, it's lacking in firepower and modern armour protection capacities, the T-62M can be upgraded with various parts of junk armour and guns from a more modern counterpart, making it a respectable opponent on the battlefield.

Furthermore, with the ongoing demining afford, the T-62M can also be upgraded with a dozer blade enabling the crews to clear mines left behind in previous wars and new potential mines to be left for the enemy while patrolling the area. The dozer blade also slightly increases the toughness of the T-62M.

The T-72B MBT or the Dune Raider Tank on the other hand is one of the best MBTs GIN utilises. Performing as well as the T-62M when the T-62M is fully upgraded, the T-72B is a force to be reckoned.
Although, despite the fact that the T-72B can't be upgraded with a higher caliber gun, junk armour can still be installed, making the T-72B even more durable.

In order to increase combat effectiveness due to the the lack of a more modern hardware and software, GIN armour division can now deploy tank ambush tactics which enable tanks to stay camouflaged until they fire their weapons or relocate their position, giving them attack speed advantage when engaging out of position enemy armours.

Basically:

GIN T-7 'Scorpion' Improvised Light Tank is the symbol of people's self-determination and national liberation. Armed with a 75mm rifled gun, the T-7 can effectively shred enemy infantry and light vehicle.

Unlike conventional IFVs, the T-7 might serve similar combat roles except for troop transportation. Despite that perceived disadvantage, the T-7 has thicker armour than typical IFVs that can even withstand autocannons and lower caliber guns.

The T-7 can be armed with 9M14 'Malyutka' anti-tank guided missile launcher, making it more than adequate for light anti-tank operations.

Despite its obsolete armament and armour, T-7 can be upgraded with junk armour and salvaged 105mm improvised rifled gun.

Doesn't come equipped with pre-installed smoke grenade dischargers but they can become available via a local upgrade. Despite that fact, T-7 can still use its engine as a smoke screen generator to create a small smoke screen surrounding it in case of emergency.

Armaments: 75mm improvised rifled gun (salvaged: 105mm improvised rifled gun), PKM 7.62mm coaxial machine gun and (upgradable) 9M14 'Malyutka' anti-tank guided missile launcher (salvaged: 2x launchers).

GIN T-62M 'Marauder' Main Battle Tank is GIN's most prevalent and prolific main battle tank. Initially purchased in collaboration with the USSR, the T-72B has founded a new home of the revolution in being locally produced through networks of dispersed underground industry. In spite of its old hardware, the T-62M is still effective when deployed in large numbers.

Despite its outdated armament and armour, T-62M can be upgraded with junk armour and salvaged 125mm smoothbore gun.

Mounting the T-62M with an optional DShKM HMG gunner increases its effectiveness against enemy infantry, attack helicopter and low-flying aircraft while also increasing the line of sight.

To further increase its endurance, upgradable armour skirt option is available for installation.

Upgrading the T-62M with dozer blade enable it to clear mines in its way while also slightly increasing its durability.

Armaments: 115mm smoothbore gun (salvaged: 125mm smoothbore gun), PKM 7.62mm coaxial machine gun and (upgradable) pintle-mounted DShKM 12.7mm air-defense machine gun.

GIN T-72B 'Dune Raider' Main Battle Tank is GIN's superior main battle tank. Originally meant to replace the T-64, the T-72B's capabilities might surpass that of T-62M but also more complex to produce in large number at current conditions. Nevertheless, the T-72B is still a force to be reckoned with in the right hands of veteran commander.

Despite its outdated armour, T-72B can be upgraded with junk armour to further increase its durability.

Sorry if it seemed that the update took forever to come out. That's because it indeed took forever to properly research, conceptualise and model GIN models and their respective salvaged upgrades. This is just the surface of what's to come. You'll see why it took me forever to do but anyway...

Looks like that's it. Got to go.

Nice, I remember asking about this and you indeed delivered, it's the good ol' classic Soviet era Ts

Never heard of the T-7, it looks like a great light tank though!

Can't wait to see a single T destroy an Abrams, hah!

Surely the right one wins, 'cause you get 9 of those compared to 1 overpriced "wunderwaffe.
