Work is progressing nicely, the Dominion have now been added to the mod and the test team are trying them out.
The next step is adding in the Romulan space units, one trait they will have is that ALL their ships will have cloaking devices, even the fighters, however the ships will be quite a lot weaker defensively, and they won't have as good weapons coverage, ie. they need to ideally be facing forwards.
In Galactic Conquest mode I intend for them to level up by using Tal Shiar agents to steal technology like the Rebels currently do. Here is a provisional list of the Romulan ships;

In other news I have a B'rel with movable wings now working and am investigating the possibility of having the Galaxy Class use its saucer separation. There are plans to include more Federation ships too, including a buildable Defiant class (the Defiant itself is already in as a hero unit), Peregrine Attack Fighter, Ambassador Class, Prometheus Class and more.
With any luck, the public release demo should be out in time for Christmas.
Great news, sounds all promissing. Can't wait to see the new Romulan ships. I hope the Scimitar (class?) will be only buildable once or much better only available for Shinzon as hero unit. Same for the Defiant (class), which would make these units unique and more important. ;)
Suggestion: I wouldn't take the Romulan shuttle for bombing run, but as troop transport for ground forces. Fits much better in my opinion.
Thanks for the suggestion, the Scimitar will be one of the most powerful ships, therefore I will make it very expensive to build. It will probably end up even stronger than the Jem'Hadar Dreadnought and second only to the Executor.
OK, sounds legit. Nevertheless I would limit the building number to only 1 Scimitar. Maybe the same for the Jem'Hadar Dreadnought? Of course for GC, in Skirmish I would let the "super ships" only be availabe in a special building like these space docks in vanilla game.
Indeed, this is covered off in the current version of GC you can only get access to the Sovereign Class upwards etc by owning planets like Kuat and Mon Calamari.
I'll see if there's a way I can limit the number of titans to 1, just like in Sins of a Solar Empire.
Yeah, that's what I meant. It's really simple to limit the buildability of a unit or building in the xml. EAW/FOC coding is sometimes very easy, but sometimes unfortunately not. ;)
What will be interesting will be when I have all seven factions gunning for 56 planets in the demo release, not every faction will be able to easily get their hands on a Kuat/Mon Calamari planet if my counting was correct.
Fortunately though you should be able to do plenty with a well thought-out fleet using plenty of Galaxy Class/Vor'cha Class/Galor Class/Victory Cruisers etc as its backbone.
