In late 2002, a planned Half-Life total-conversion named City West Adventures was put on permanent hold due to a lack of interest from both its target audience and potential team members. It was to be a single-player action-adventure, with a unique 'comic-esque' stylisation and innovative design concepts; fully-voiced by a team of talented actors; and released in three episodes. Two years later, based on a new engine and with many design alterations, City West Adventures is back.

The mod design has been in secret progress for 18 months, crafted meticulously by a five-strong team of game designers and story writers. Now, with the release of the Half-Life 2 SDK, CWA has finally left its pre-production stage.

With the first batch of screenshots released (see above) and already speedy progress being made, City West Adventures' creators hope that, this time round, the mod will be more of a success.

Thanks.

We just wanted to have a strong design document before we actually started to make the thing. Of course, this coincided nicely with the Source engine not actually being out yet until a month or so ago. Heh.
