Post news Report RSS The First Weekend

The first weekend comes to a close, and the mod moves ever forward.

Posted by on

It's been a long couple of days, but the first weekend of the Freeworlds: Tides of War Open Beta is coming to a close, and I am proud to announce that we are quickly approaching the stability we are looking for, and well ahead of schedule. Within the next week, we should have a server that is almost completely devoid of serious issues. I'd like to give my sincerest thanks to all of you who assisted in hunting down the worst of the bugs.

For those of you that have yet to join us, go ahead and download the launcher, and register on the forums at www.freeworldstidesofwar.com. Here, you can report any issues you encounter and receive assistance from the community and the developers.

After we have nailed down a stable environment, we will move on to systems testing. Over the next few weeks, I will be organizing a series of testing events designed to test the various components of the metagame. News on that can be found at the aforementioned forum.

Once again, I thank you all for the remarkable response to our release, and I hope to continue to see you all on the server.

FW:ToW Launcher BETA

I really want to play this, but I can't find Freelancer anywhere. I can find a disk version on Amazon but there's nowhere to digitally buy and download it. Do you guys know of any site where they have a digital version of Freelancer?

There is no legal digital version of Freelancer.

Or GOG.com

Best case scenario would be GoG.com, however I could see the appeal of getting it on steam, however steam has shown they don't care about actually getting the games to work and testing them on modern platforms to ensure compatibility, so I would much prefer GoG.com for this.

Every game I've gotten on Steam has worked perfectly, without a single compatibility problem, therefore, I must ask if your platform has been the generator of problems.

Get it on amazon, might as well and it is worth having a physical copy.

I don't think microsoft would be interested in that, since the Xbox they pretty much abandoned the PC platform for gaming.

Do people even play this mod anymore? I thought the Freelancer Multiplayer scene was completely dead since a year or two ago.

They just launched the beta.. They had a little demo to play around with the ships but that was barely the game.

Yeah, I mean, it's not like I insulted the mod or anything, I love Freelancer, it was my first ever Space Sim AND Multiplayer game. I just didn't think anyone played it anymore.

It's hard to convey tone over comments. I'm going to guess people assumed ill intent, as is extremely frequent on the internet.
