Hello again! It's been a really long time. Too long since our last actual update.I've been told there are rumours going around that Synergy is getting an update...
We put the project back on track and we're ready for our version to go public!
You can find the change log right here.
Some important things have been addressed, such as some broken Half-Life 2 singleplayer maps from Valve, Jeep physics, seat position for players, donor features, etc.
We're also experimenting with a new weapon we've added as well, the Desert Eagle (.357).
Give us your thoughts on it; if you like it, hate it, want it kept or just toss it. If you're not signed up on the forums yet, that would be the best place to let us know what you think! You'll need to use cheats to play with this weapon for now.
If you've not connected with us through Steam, please do so by joining our Steam Game Group.
Take care!
Enjoy!

Awesome, not played Synergy to any great extent but if you guys are doing an update, it gives me reason to try it out! Nice work guys, keep it up!
Desert Eagle, you say? *reinstalls Synergy*
Can this be updated via steam?
I say, I played this mod a really long time ago.
I do believe I will give it another go.
Tried this mod a while back. Good with friends, but I rarely can find a good server...
Plus half the servers I get (for some inexplicable reason) are Russian.
Time to reinstall Synergy I suppose! Posted about the update here: Modsentry.com
SAY WHAT!!! SYNERGY GOT AN UPDATE???
WOW, This a surprize for me...
I thought it was Dead Tbh
''Amount of health given when healing another player increased from 5 to 10 health points''
Oh F off. I rather let my friends die than try to heal them.
I really hope adding custom weapons doesn't become rampant. One of the biggest problems with Synergy and SVEN is that if you want to play the campaigns in coop how they were meant to be played you're experience is muddied with all these custom weapons that were never in the original games. Believe it or not, this is a massive detriment to the experience. The developers might think it's unique and interesting but it just really doesn't fit.
You know what would be interesting? Having a working cooperative campaign. So many elements of the campaign are completely broken. Cinematics generally never work for more than one player if I recall correctly, and some levels are just totally broken such as the level where you're riding in the container in the citadel. If I remember properly you just spawn on the platform and nothing happens. I had to manually use the changelevel command because we were all stuck.
In short, the mod has very poor support for cooperative elements where it was intended to be for a single person. This really needs to be addressed.
If you knew how the Source engine worked, you would understand why that is.
I don't think you can address that without redoing the maps.
Then why don't they redo some of the maps? the EDT thingos can only do so much.
Putting spawns in the right areas would have been better and where a level starts/begins should have been changed as well. Everyone is expected to have completed the game already so when playing in co-op it'd be okay to fade-out and fade-in where there was once triggers.
I'm not sure when you last played this, but it doesn't play out as bad as you make it sound.
My biggest concern is still with the vehicle maps (Canals, Coast, etc.) because there honestly is no single 'fix-all' solution.
The Valve campaigns have not been changed too much either - we're not adding weapons to the original campaigns.
You guys made new weapon? no thanks. NOT GOING TO USE IT!
