Post news Report RSS Texture Pack released

I have uploaded my texture pack for my Perfected Doom 3 modification. This texture pack includes sharpened model skins, map textures, and loading screen pictures that add some extra detail to the game.

Posted by on

This texture pack was created to work with my Perfected Doom 3 mod. Using it with other mods may cause problems. Just drop the pak file into your Perfected Doom 3 mod folder and you should be good to go.

Just to let you guys know, I am working on another small patch for Perfected Doom 3 that will add a few more fixes and enhancements to the mod. I'll update on that ASAP.

Enjoy the texture pack.

Can I turn off blur without messing up the HUD?

Have you tried it yet? Because I've never disabled motion blur. Let me know if there are any problems.

It's still being authorized. Hey, I remember you. You helped me get the coding done to get monsters and weapons to spawn projectiles without using the SDK. How do you like my mod?

I realized it wasn't under "downloads", it was under "addons". XD My mistake!

I don't think Mod DB has posted his Texture Pack download yet since it's not appearing on his downloads page. It should be up within the next day or so I believe, if it's like 5.3.0 patch was. Keep checking back and it should be up soon.

As far as Motion Blur, yes, you can remove it without touching any other features. I have Motion Blur, Bloom, and DoF disabled. You can disable any of these features within the Doom Config file. Some are also controlled within the AutoExec file. For those which share places in both, you need to disable the effects in both files. You can also tweak the effects within those files, to an extent.

Maybe another feature for your next version is to include those options directly in the mainmenu, it shouldn't be too hard and 6thvenom menu is pretty well organized to work on.

There is an option in the menu to disable bloom but not motionblur or DOF. I may do that in the next patch. Thanks for answering those questions john.

Np. Something else I found which could be implemented in a future patch is the Chainsaw being bound to a key. IT's the only weapon not able to be bound. I'm guessing that's because before you couldn't select both the Fist and the Chainsaw. If you had a Chainsaw before, you couldn't select the Fists whereas now you can. If you can, you should edit the Controls menu to also include it. Could set it to the - or + key. Personally, I'd edit my controls so the Chainsaw is key 1, Fists key 2, Pistol key 3, etc.
