Sign in has never been easier, plus a new game expansion system and paid job ads all in todays site update.

A few big updates have just been deployed which are among a few projects we are working on at the moment. But first up, and one we hope will add significant discussion and interaction to this site for all of the developers out there...
Beginning right now, new members can join this site and start participating in the discussion via their social network accounts, or existing members can connect their accounts so signing in is just a matter of clicking a button. Do this right now just click any of the icons below:
By making this process easy, hopefully more will join and comment. Oh and we will never automatically post to your twitter or facebook page, because sites that do that are lame.
Looking for paid work? There is a new filter on the jobs board which allows you to search for paying jobs. We've already got two excellent positions listed from Techtonic Games, so if you fancy your programming or level design skills you should apply.
Finally, interested in Max Payne 3 and want to see where it all began? Game and mod profiles can now be connected so on the right menu you will notice Max Payne 1 & 2 listed. Like Diablo III but still think 2 is better? Again sequels are all listed, connect your game and mod profiles today!
We've got a cool little project in the works for mobile gamers and developers up next, so check back in a few weeks for updates on it! Hope you enjoyed the updates!
Wow nice, I'm looking forward for the mobile version!
Will there also be a Desura App?
I would love to work at Moddb. :D
Not so sure about the Facebook, Twitter sign in thing, I quite like my anonymity.
The mobile version sounds cool! :)
the information is used only to log you in, we don't share it in any way.
Ah OK, so it works more like openID, awesome! :)
Is this important for expanding the user base? I mean, there are plenty of items we requested only to get it on the "to do" list. I'm guessing picking these features first (specifically the social sign in) are business decisions?
I think it's a good idea for to increase the user base but I rather the paid job filter. It'll make volunteer effort projects far more distinguished from paying varieties and save us all a good bit of trouble.
What features do you think are more important?
- Comment notifications on images/media.
- On the "update" page, when you visit such an update it should automatically get "cleared" from the list
Basically anything the users have been asking for (for a while) but got replied with the "we are busy" remark. If Henley did add the requests on the to-do list, he would know what's in demand.
I've added all of these feature requests to the list, but I have to be honest none are marked as urgent.
What made the twitter feed update urgent?
Also a "Block User" functions, so e.g. the blocked user cant visit your profile, watch your images, comment your media or +/- your karma.
Yes that feature really would be appreciated. I think also maybe filter for users so they can censor certain words only on their end. Say, for instance, if I wanted to censor the word "devil" or a word like that. I'd enter it into the thing, and it would be blocked out just for me and only me. It would only effect my end user experience but allow me to block unwanted text.
So we can link our Google/twitter/facebook/steam accounts to our current registered account here?
1. Go to your profile.
2. Click Edit Profile.
3. Scroll down to the bottom of the page.
4. Click one of the links under "Connect your accounts for quick login:"
All fantastic stuff! I especially like the squeal linking.
Nice! ModDB keeps getting more and more professional. Also I really like the sequel linking, without it I wouldn't have found out about the Amnesia:TDD sequel as soon as I have. Now excuse me while I link my steam account.
When I thought everything was good... It just got better! Great job, guys!
no offence onto it but, man i hate steam... never ever works for me
Heh
I've always wanted someway to integrate a mods social sites into it's profile like such: I682.photobucket.com
With these new features it seems to make more sense than ever.
building in twitter support now
Awesome to hear.
