As announced in the last news the following passage should give you a brief but detailed overview on what you can expect of the first release and what has been completed so far.
Release Plans
Please note that the upcoming release is meant to be a beta version with the essential gameplay elements in it, while a lot more content and currently unfinished stuff will be added later, step by step in small stages.
First and in this release only playable faction will be the Peacekeepers, which are except for some details and pontentially addable features almost done. There are two finished maps at the moment using the new gameplay system, a third is in progress. Mapping is quite time-consuming and therefore it is highly improbable that there will be more than three maps in this release - another talented mapper would be very welcome, so in case you think this project is worth your support and you are able to do that job, don't hesitate to contact me via PM.
Another issue is the fact that originally this project was planned to be a pure multiplayer mod with the consequence that there is no actually working A.I. implemented yet. Due to the new outpost system it would be necessary to create this from scratch since the Tiberium Wars A.I. is not flexible enough to get simply modified. The implementation of this, however, would take several weeks, if not months, hence would delay the release, and therefore I'd like to encourage you to comment on the necessity of a working A.I. in a first release. Getting to know your opinion about the A.I. issue is also one the main reasons for this update.
Note that even if added, the gameplay still focusses on the multiplayer experience, which means that the A.I. would be quite basic with the main purpose to serve as a placeholder in skirmish matches. Making it a real challenge might be an issue then for the second release version.
Apart from these lacks there are mostly details that need to be finished. Sounds partly have to be reworked, new voices to be added, some cosmetic stuff like the menues aren't finished, but all in all the mod is making good progress and even though I cannot name a definite date here, I can say that at the moment the first version is planned to be released in the third quarter of this year.
