As we've just finished the Greater Maldrood playthrough (click right there for the playlist) on my personal channel, I've started a new playthrough as the Pentastar Alignment on the reworked Stars Align GC. In this playthrough, along with general development topics, you'll get to see the new UI in progress, the new Bellator, Procursator, ground combat changes and a look at some other new Pentastar goodies. I'll be posting episodes tuesdays, thursdays and saturdays for those who are interested in seeing more and would like to subscribe. Everything will, of course, also be posted on the forums, Facebook and ModDB as it's done for those who aren't interested in this sort of longer-form content as well; these videos just tend to involve a bit more offhand/in-depth development discussion.
There will be more regular news posts coming up, however as I mentioned in the video, I'm dealing with some family issues at the moment. So far, we don't expect it to delay the demo, but it has temporarily prevented me from releasing some of the regular news posts that we intended to do.

I've always wondered why have you guys never have made ships with moving turrets like Star destroyers etc?.
Is it just more resource intensive on the game then you guys feel you want for the mod or just more effort then you guys want for such a small visual detail?.

Those proscurators look really good, I may even drop the Victory 2's in my usual fleet composition for them

I would like to play this mod sooo badly, but this stupid laser rpojectile spam is just too crazy for me...
Projectiles and rates of fire are completely different in 2.2.

it is so good to see the rate of fire is down a bit but.. i still think it is to fast.. how much faster it is then vanilla.. fire rate ??
It's not faster than vanilla. Vanilla recharge values for most energy weapons (turbos, ions) were 3 seconds min, 4 seconds max. We've always kept that. Vanilla hardponts tended to fire 6-7 bursts per round, in 2.1 we were usually doing 10, in 2.2 it's usually 3-4.
not that I'd know much last time I payed is very long ago but it seems to me like what they call laser spam comes from ships having way more hardpoints.

Btw. I don't really know if there's away to change this, but as a fan of huge spaceship battles I was always hoping for large-scale capital ship fights in GC, but on medium/hard difficulty I always ended up having an enemy fleet of like 1 capital ship and 99x fighter squadrons and 99x Frigates incoming lol. Hope it's gonna be different in 2.2. ^^
