The article doesn't have any revelations, but is on my line of thought. Breaking the publisher Cycle may be the way to success. Which means publishing will have to change more and be more cost efficient.

Definitely I'd love Desura to take over from where Kickstarter left off because I trust this company.. I don't trust Amazon. And I feel that at least if Desura controls it, the money comes back into not only the industry, but also Australia.

If we can make this network big, it'll be the best thing ever, many Australian developers need this to succeed. The kickstarter fad is coming to an end, now its time to make this thing much bigger than it started, its time to finally take back our damn industry!

I can only hope we hear a lot more from the press on Desura.

Do note that your argument of trusting DesuraNET could backfire as well (even if the sings are not here yet).

The requirement that a game as to be playable/in heavy production before you can "back" it is, however, a stronger argument for DesuraNET.

My main concern (this goes for every pre-sale, especially pre-production, based economy) is that when the game finally gets released a very large portion of the sales have been made already. What happens when the game does not sell after release?
