ORION SOURCE MULTIPLAYER BETA DEPARTS AT THE END OF THE MONTH / BIG ANNOUNCEMENT IMMINENT

This is a rather large announcement, huh?  Don't worry, don't worry!  Nothing is happening instantly.  We just released a small upgrade for all of you.  So take this news posting as an encouragement to go play Beta 1.2 as much as you can before July 31st, 2010.  This is the last day that we will be supporting the Orion Source Multiplayer Beta.

What do I mean by this?  We will be continuing to have our PLAY WITH THE DEVELOPERS matches every Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday.  Come join us, say hello, let us know what you think of the game - whatever you want.

However, on JULY 31st, 2010, we will no longer support or update the Source Beta version of the game.  We will continue to let the Beta 1.2a game servers continue to run and operate, however if it is truly up to IGN and Trinity Game Servers to decide the fate of the servers in good time.

You may be asking, why are you doing this?  What happened?  There are a variety of reasons and circumstances, however, the main reason is that we are going to investing into another much more important endeavor that we are going to be announcing the week of the 18th.  We hope to see you on the game servers, we hope the fans that have tried the Orion Source Beta enjoyed it, and we appreciate everyone that left feedback as it is most definitely not being wasted and being used.

Until the near future,
David "Praz" Prassel

I would bet on Unity if they are going Indy, Unity owns in terms of creating original game,s I swear, everything I play a UDK game the HUD and lighting system makes it painfully obvious. Either way, good luck to all of your guys on whats coming next, can't wait to hear what it is!

Hm... doubtful. I've talked with David a bit about Unity, and he primarily thinks of it as a great iPhone/iPad engine. Besides, Unity doesn't allow for custom maps to be used, or even made for that matter.

I have yet to see anyone on any orion servers, i wanna play it but i want to do so with people - also im in the uk so even if someone were playing it'd be all laggy and whatnot. Sad times cause the game does look good.

Ugh, really? Every time I find an awesome mod it suddenly dies or something happens. I hope you guys are just abandoning it and I hope you don't go to UDK cuz source runs so much better for me...

This always happens to the mods I really like... =[

They're moving to steamworks, so direct download links won't be supported anymore.
