Half-Life 2 Mod

Well it’s been quite a while since Jedi: Timelines last news post, but they have been working hard on getting things going. You will see a few new models, by M@ty, and CheeseSteakJim. Also you will see some of the great work from their Concept artist altiquek.

For all of The Jedi: Timeline forum members you will see a new area just for you. ”Members first look.” This is where you will find work in progresses, and early releases of models. Right now I have just posted the AT-ST in there so go check it out.

The last thing is soon on Half-Life Radio they will be holding a Star Wars night. Jedi: Timeline has been invited on to talk on it, as well as mod leaders from UT2k3’s Troopers, and Battlefield 1942’s Galactic Conquest. They will be talking all about Star Wars in gamming. I will post more info on this once I have it, but it will be in the next 2 weeks. So keep checking back here, and on Half-Life Radio. Now on to the images.

The X-Wing (T-65) starfighter has proven itself to be the mainstay of the Rebel forces. It is perhaps the best-balanced of the fighters used by the Rebel Alliance. This because of it's maneuverability and high speed, An other benefit of the X-Wing is it's fire power. The X-Wing is so called because in attach posture the wings separate in a scissor like action to form an "X" configuration. In this attack mode the Strike foils give the craft a larger targeting spread and with it's engines spread father apart, create a greater direct-thrust attitude change capability.

- Shields/Armor: Quadanium steel armour
- Special Features: S-Foil Wings Adjustable for atmospheric flight

A Naboo Security S-5 Blaster carried by members of the Royal Security Forces. A small grappling hook can be attached to the pistol, converting it into an ascension gun. The hook's claws embed into almost any surface, and when the pistol's built-in cable retracts, the blaster is capable of hoisting its wielder. In addition, the security blaster can fire blaster bolts, rapid fire for a few seconds, sting charges and anesthetic micro darts. Queen Amidala, Captain Panaka, and their troops use ascension guns to gain entry into the Theed palace after it was captured by the Trade Federation.

Next you see the first public concept work done by the talented altiquek. Below you will see two concepts of new Sith that will be featured within the game. And also you will see a rough sketch on a vehicle that you will find out there in Jedi: Timeline

Lucas is mod friendly. Look at UT2k3's Troopers and BF 1942 Galactic Conquest. Lucas lets them run. LA just makes sure Star Wars mods keeps to there rules. I have just contacted them to make sure LA knows I am around, and to give me the guidelines I must follow.

Timmay your wrong, LA haven't supported the creation of modification material at all. In actual fact it is most likely they haven't seen it, I believe a modification for HL1 was already made in the Star Wars Universe. Lucas Arts wrote back to the team asking them to scrap it, then 6months later out come Jedi Outcast :) SG-1 HL had a similar incident too.

I believe you should just base your own universe around the Star Wars concept, for example changing skins, names and some minor weaponary to suit your own title and storyline.

In fact I know Troopers, and Galactic battlegrounds are known by Lucas Art. I have talked to both mod team leads. And I know for a fact, they talk with Lucas Arts. And about the SG-1 mods. I work on Stargate SGC. And MGM knows all about us, and are happy we are around. I have personally met with the president of MGM television.

So as you can see a lot of time people want to blame for their failure. I am not saying it never happens, but I can tell you both companies let mods be made. Also www.lucasfiles.com is run by Lucas Arts. And you will find Star Wars mods on there for BF and UT2k3.

oh and the Star Wars one, the reason the HL1 mod closed was because they could not get the blasters to work right on it. If its the same star wars one I know of.

I looked into this stuff before I started the mod. :)
