Wow.
Sounds Interesting... We have to draw it, Right? we can't take screenshots?
Um... I suppose you could screenshot if you made the actual map.
OK good, because I really stink at drawing.
How long do we have to make it?
I haven't decided. Probably until the end of November.
What is "isometric"?
Hmm, like, kind of at an angle so you can see a lot of the chamber from just one angle instead of having a whole bunch of views from just the walls.
Do we need to say if a surface can have portals?
Well, just make the metal (no portal) areas black and the concrete (yes portal) areas white, like they are in the game.
Can we possibly use Thinkwithportals.com when it comes out??
Yes, that would be extremely ideal for submitting one, but it'll be too late by then.
True. I'm gonna use this for my mod though... when it comes out...
Sounds neat, but you know that it's Portal 2 only right?
Is there a final deadline for this?
Well... It would have been November 30, but nobody actually turned anything in... So have it in by January 10, 2012.
I'm almost done with it, just wait for a while more!
Dropbox.com
There are three drawings inside the folder.
If there is a problem with the link, tell me.
Every room is linked, but if you need, you could change, split, or add more things to the chamber to your liking.
Happy New Year!
Ah just now saw that. I'll look.
EDIT: Oh, you linked to your dropbox as if I were to be logged into yours. Hmmm... OK, right click on the folder with your entry in it and click "Get shareable link" or "Copy public link." Give me that link instead.

The first drawing just has turrets and a vent. Not much, but vents can only remove turrets. The Portal 2 E3 video on vents was a guide.
The second drawing has turrets and lasers with laser cubes. Both portals and the laser cube are needed to solve the room. The vent at the end is to be used in the next room. E3 videos and fan made "Portal 2" maps were
guides.
The final drawing still has turrets, lasers and laser cube. Half of the room is portal-ble while the other is not. Not sure if the vent from earlier is really needed.
Once again, feel free change, split, or add more things to the chamber to your liking.
Hmm, yes, I was planning on introducing vents in this chamber, so that's really useful. However I can't use lasers, I can't figure them out. Ah, I forgot to put them up in the contest post in stuff you can't use... Oh well, the contest's over now, and you win! And nobody else gets anything.
About the Thermal Discouragement Beam; in the days before Portal 2's release, a good number of maps which had Thermal Discouragement Beams were made, so maybe you could take a look at them?
The way they changed a lot of stuff in Portal 2 is they made hardcoded entities for doors, boxes, etc. instead of just generic prop entities with special inputs and outputs associated with them, which is the way they did things in Portal. They did the same thing basically with lasers, except the hardcoded entity came first (to the mapper), and the generic + I/O way came after. The generic + I/O way involves a lot of complicated stuff (on the mapper's end) that I don't understand. (and I really don't feel like figuring out [but will if I have to])
Where can we get this amazing winner map? :D
In the finished mod. When it becomes finished.
