We thought we'd better do something really special for our latest news release, what with the ModDB Awards (Vote for Jailbreak here!) happening and all! So, we've spent the last few weeks putting together the Official Jailbreak: Source 0.5 Trailer! Check it out below!
Release date January 2009!
That means THIS month! So get ready to breakout your teammates and go hack/slash crazy with your Laser Cleaver, because Jailbreak is back and now it's got Dinosaurs and Robots! The eagle eyed amongst you will also notice two shots in the trailer, showing off the new gamemode, which we'll be revealing all about next week when we release the second trailer!

loved the previous jailbreaks, but not gonna play anymore, wtf is up with dinosaurs???? before it actually fit in the hl2 universe with combine trying to jail rebel etc. Ty for ******* a great series up.
Awww! We know it's not to everyone's taste, but we always intended to move away from the HL2 Universe completely. It's a shame you dont want to give it go, you might enjoy it!

In all honesty though buddy if you was that big a fan of the series you would at least give the mod a chance on your love of it alone. We had already branched away from the HL2 series in 0.4, with maps set in space ships, Victorian England and alien worlds, so it's not like you couldn't see the changes coming.
Give the mod a try when we release, you might find yourself surprised that behind the new player models you will find a damn good game (even if i say so myself).

Hehe! Yeah some of the trailer was shot two weeks back and the code hadn't been updated to "Dinosaurs" and "Robots" at that point. Rest assured it is now :D

Yeah, thanks for all of the nice comments guys/gals, the mod is literally in the polishing stages now and although it's taken a long time to reach the public, the amount of changes since the last version is huge, 0.4.1 pales in comparison!
Keep an eye out for more news in the next week on our new twist to the Jailbreak formula.

Yeah, I liked the old player models too, but the new ones look just as good, if not better.

atleast give the people who like the old look an option to use them as skins.....
Try them first. Not everyone will like the changes, but hey, you can't please everyone. Anyone remember when they took the APC out of cs_siege? I know I missed it, but people still played and got used to it. Mind this change is bigger, but the essence is still somewhat the same. CS is still huge. People hated many changes to it, but they got used to it.
So, play it anyway if you hate the new models. You may hate them at first, and then a week later you might love them.

I believe that the people that say that "ZOMG COMBINE AND REBELS FIT THE THEME" didn't play this mod more than 5 minutes...
Indeed, things have come a LONG way since 0.3, and we've put a lot of effort in to removing ourselves from the HL2 universe.
Well one thing is sure, since they left the hl2 universe, theyve gotten more and more attention from players. Before people hardly cared to play it because of the hl2 stuff. Its a shame they did, but thats reality.
They did a great move!

Yep! We are a Total Conversion this time round! We've replaced and created over 800 textures, 100 sounds and 300 models!
