Sven Co-op is 10 years old now. Wow. Hezus has a great news post below -- I just had a couple of small things to add:
1. Sorry about the delay on the Beta 2 patch -- Sniper's transitioning to a new job at the moment and is low on time, so things are taking longer than expected.
2. ModDB's Mod of the Year awards are on again, and Sven Co-op is one of just two Half-Life mods voted into the final stage! It would be pretty interesting for a HL1 mod to take a place in the awards, ten years on :), so if you like Sven Co-op please go and vote. I'm told registered users' votes count double, so if you have a ModDB account, log in first.

I hope you are all enjoying Sven Co-op 4.0, since it took us nearly 5 years to get it done after 3.0 was released in 2003. The beginning of Sven Co-op goes back even further. Exactly 10 years ago on this very day (19 January 1999), Sven Co-op 0.8 Beta was slipped to the public, as stated in some ancient documents, thus probably making it the first mod for Half-Life ever.
Everyone will probably still remember the road from 3.0 to 4.0 pretty well, but the time before that might be a blur for most of you or maybe some of you weren't even playing games then. Either way, I've taken my shovel and dug into the archives of Sven Co-op to see what I could dig up from the first years of the MOD. Read on!

i thought i heard a long time ago that after 4 they would start porting to source... don't know where i got that rumor from but i wish it was true.. i love synergy for hl2 but dont play it much anymore... due to its mainly just hl2 and maps... sven coop has new things besides maps and such...
Take a look at Obsidian Conflict! It's awesome and beats Synergy with ease.

I may sound ignorant and rude but changelog make me thought you just sat with your finger up your ***.
You're making mod(Which only achievement is "many" maps. Because other features don't cost YEARS of coding.) for 10 years. Look at some of latest Source mods. They go travel from closed alphas to FLAWLESS releases with no bugs in 1 or 2 years.
You could ask me privately. I can tell you about some of them and all their story.
Though, I'm NOT saying SC is bad. I've spent loads of time having fun with it. But slow development is sloooow.
Yet i see no contribution from you? Even so, these guys spend there free time doing this - Have some respect :)
Its an amazing mod and in my opinion is worth the wait for the new updates. Just adds to the fun of the release :D.

Full changelog hasn't been released yet (so long it's awkward to sort out) -- what you see on svencoop.com is just from the last four months (larger versions here: Svencoop.com ). 4.0 was definitely slow, though, yeah.

10 years already??Well Happy B-Day sven co-op!Damn I regret not founding out about this mod earlier..
Because they were still working on Hl1 to finish their work they started. Now a few patches maybe a last version then i guess they focus completely on source.
