Post news Report RSS Gentrification: The Kickstarter

It's that time in the life of every indie game. The time to desperately try to raise funds. Don't worry, I'm not asking for too much.

It's that time in the life of every indie game. The art is looking rough, the mechanics are mostly working, and the scope is fairly reasonable. Yes, it's time for a Kickstarter!

Don't worry. I'm not asking for anyone to empty out their bank accounts or selling virtual space ships. Just trying to get enough money to get the game on Steam and pay all the fees, around $200.

This game has been a passion project for me. Something I mostly do for fun. I would like it to become more than that, but I didn't want to invest time and money into something that it turns out no one wants. So, this is the test. If I can get enough funding to get Gentrification on Steam, I'll finish and publish the game. If I get more than I asked for, I'll add more of my weird ideas and better polish to everything.

The Kickstarter campaign will be live for 45 days, or around $4.50 a day. During that time I will try to keep updating and explaining the game. If this sounds at all interesting, please check out the Kickstarter page, follow the IndieDB, and spread it all around to your friends, family, coworkers, and even enemies. I would really appreciate it.

You can donate as low as a single dollar to be kept in the loop with developer updates, $3 to secure yourself a copy of the game on launch, or $10 at the top if you really want the full package. Again, we're trying to keep prices reasonable.

Oh yeah, one more thing. The first five people can claim a copy of the game for only $1. So, get over there and try to claim yours.

Thank you,

-Andrew
