Welcome to Friday update #2!

This week we'd like to introduce a new feature for our weekly updates: "Meet the Devs". We will be interviewing one of the NNK developers weekly to introduce the team to all you fans out there better. You'll be able to peer deep into the depths of their crazy minds.

But first, this weeks media updates. Our animator, Lord Killmore, wanted to show his smooth animation abilities with this teaser video; something you can expect in the first release of NNK. Video created by jjr.heartfelt.

Second, we updated our media gallery once again and added few raw character render screenshots and a new wallpaper made by Super Vegetto. Feel free to create your own wallpapers and signatures and post it in our art section of our forum to showcase your abilities as well.

For more WIP sneak peaks to the project, sign up on our forums to uncover the hidden section of our forums, Konoha Secret Files. Within you'll be expose to hidden work the team may showcase in there.

Now moving on to Meet the Devs. And here is the first interview! This week with Svenime
Ok, so tell us about yourself?
Well here goes nothing. My name is Sven Stoffels. I am 22 years old and I study video game design art. I currently live in a comfy apartment in the Netherlands.

How long have you been following Naruto and do you only read the manga, watch the anime or both?
I have been following the Naruto anime since around 2005 up until the Gaara arc. Then I had to wait each week for the new episode to come out wich got me into the manga. I've been following both ever since (didn't watch any fillers).

Are there any other animes you watch or mangas you read?
I've watched and read a numerous amount of anime and manga, too much to name them all and too little to call me a otakuhentai fabtard ;p . My favorite ones are Akira, Grave of the fireflies, FLCL and ofcourse Naruto. Also anything animated by Norio Matsumoto or Ryo Chimo (look them up on www.youtube.com sometime).

So how did you get into modding anyways?
"How I got into modding," hmmm.... Well I remember way back when I was still watching the DBZ anime, I downloaded a Quake3 mod called Bid for Power. This was the first time I came across anything that had to do with video game mods. After this I joined the ZEQ2 community and got into Half-life Hammer mapping for Counter-strike. This got the ball rolling and I ended up joining several mods (which never got to see the light of day). Right now I am a 2D artist and I enjoy 3D modeling. If you are interested in seeing some of my work you can head over to this page: Sven-da-man.deviantart.com and in the near future my very own website: Svenime.com

And how did you end up at NNK and what exactly do you do on the team?
Well I'm not completely sure how I exactly ended up in NNK. I remember Kong asking me if I would be interested in fulfilling the part of 2D artist in a new Naruto related mod project he and a few others had started. I thought it'd be a good idea and ended up making the Naruto model instead. The team liked it so much that I got the job of 3D character modeler. Though I'll probably still be doing some 2D stuff in the future when needed.

Are there any other projects you worked on in the past or that you are currently working on you would like to mention?
As I mentioned before, I have worked on several mods, even including some Naruto mods. Though they all died or never got finished, which makes them unworthy of being mentioned. Right now I am busy with establishing a nice full portfolio which I will be displaying on my site (www.svenime.com) bit by bit. I also make some concept art for freelance modelers from time to time but most of the time I'm just doodling.

Any last words you want to add to this before we bring this to an end?
Well, I guess ensuring the community that this mod will pull through and will not follow the rest of its kind into an early grave would be in place. Also I hope you guys will enjoy watching this project as much as we like working on it. Hope to see you all online so I can Rasengan your butts when the first build is wrapped up!

That pretty much sums it up for this weeks update. Stay tuned because soon, we will start to reveal our actual gameplay mechanics to the public.

looks nice, though the hair bobbles too much for my liking, but thats only a 1st draft, right?

Nothing is 100% final yet but the hair has to be somewhat extremely animated since you will look at it from a certain distance ingame and not from upclose most of the time ;)

Also that movie kinda ... well, why couldn't You showcase the model from distance, and switch angles, unlike sticking the camera in his face? That was certainly awkward, despite good animations and lots of work already put in the model.
