Well, after 3 days of solid coding the moddatabases feature system is pretty much as good as done! To explain exactly what it is, I will answer the following questions:
What is it
Basically put, a feature can be anything from an interview, a review, preview, article, exclusive etc... Like many other sites on the web, the modDB plans on having interviews with mod teams, game teams, previews all that cool funky stuff! As it has only just been completed it'll be about a week or so before you start seeing some of these features. Need to deal with various minor teething issues.
What does it mean?
Well it means, modDB v1.5 is pretty much complete. The feature system was the last big chunk of code I had to work into this site. Now it is just a matter of completing / enhancing existing components of the modDB. It'll also mean that the Mod of the Month can be selected, so just get your votes in for that and we shall see which mod will be the first ever to recieve that prestigeous honour!
How can I help out?
Now is your chance to become a modDB moderator, and help out about the place! You see, the current staff cannot keep pumping out, interesting articles, reviews etc... so if you are interested in writing up that sorta thing, give us a yell! It'll mean you'll be able to see the communitys take on your thoughts via the commenting system and it may mean you get to preview that favourite mod of yours :D Well stop reading this and check out, the 1 feature currently available! The rest shall be wacked up next weekend!
damn am i glad to have this pretty much done. Was not easy to do i'll tell you that much :D
You'll want to activate the Mod of the Month link on the sidebar I guess...
once a mod of the month is selected and posted... that'll happen next weekend, so still one more week.
Oh and just to clear something up, standard members cannot post features, it is limited to administrators and moderators... but you can always send any feature in or whatever, or apply to become a moderator :D
You go Scott!
yay
