PLEASE NOTE: The weapon mods will not be exactly the same as WMK. I'm working on a system that will allow you to customize on-the-fly, as you want through your pip-boy. Also, there will not be as much variety, as this is a REALISM mod. No triple-barrel rocket launchers or triple drum magazines. There will still be quite a few new weapons and many with entirely new uses (such as the kick-ass silenced and scoped Hunting Rifle).
Alright, I'm sure you've all seen the weapon slot videos. However, I have 5 key features lined up, unfortunately, I believe only 4 will be compatible with each other. I'll put it in more detail for you.
My current project is getting the bank working. I have it up and running, but there is now a *little* glitch where you get about 10,000 caps a second. Great for cheaters, not so great for a serious mod. At worst, I may have to abandon the feature, or find a different method of implementing it.
Another thing I'm busy with is implementing a realistic eating/crapping system. Pretty much you get 5 stats that you must watch to avoid undesirable effects or perhaps even death. You need to eat, drink, sleep, crap and piss. I always was bothered by how there are WASHROOMS in Megaton that you drink out of... Expect that to change. NOTE: THIS IS A TOGGLE FEATURE. You can play without it. However, your toilets will not be a place to get a sip of water, no matter your settings.
I'm also adding in a feature to the home terminal to disable fast-travel. To compensate, I'm adding in 7 or so "travel caravans" that will transport you to several key locations for a small fee (10-25 caps depending on the location). This feature is also 100% optional, although the travel caravans will remain no matter your settings.
Here is the big two features, I want the community and any "fans" of my mod to decide. If I could either implement WMK (weapon mods, which I may allow you to modify in game via your pip-boy), or would you rather have iron-sights. This is a critical decision. Weapon mods may bring more variety and fun to the wasteland, but without iron-sights, a certain amount of realism is gone. The current poll results are below:

Lol, poop mod. Despite how this sounds, it's actually a feature I'd be interested in trying out.
Pretty much, I believe my Biology textbook said that only 10% of food eaten contributes to biomass. There are some really good needs mods out there, but they all seem to ignore the fact that while crapping your pants isn't lethal, it sure isn't fun either... not that I'd know or anything :P
I made it very scaled-back (and a bit unrealistic), you only need one or two food items and a few drinks every hour of play. I really get annoyed when every ten seconds you have to eat something. I am considering a more detailed level of customization for this feature (off, basic, realistic, and insane).
The digistive system mod idea sounds pretty awesome. Between Iron sights and WMK, I'd pick WMK

Done. The creator of the iron-sights mod has contacted me and stated that the mod is currently not ready for integration into Reborn. However, he says that when it reaches a later version, it will be. Since the release date is still weeks, perhaps months away, I will get an update from him before Reborn V7 is released.

Iron sight is good for FPS... This is RPG-aka-FPS... So more variety is much better than Iron sight. In this Case I don't care about realism.
Also, Most of the time I use V.A.T.S. So I'll see weapon look, and won't use iron sight...

Yes, iron-sights are more of an FPS thing, but I am trying to make the guns more realistic. Hopefully one day I can combine both mods.

I love "REAL-RPG"... Those that have lots of possibilities and roles (Fallout series, Arcanum, Star Wars: KOTOR series and ect.)
And I love FPS too, I own lot's of those on steam (HL series, TF series, L4D...) and etc. And I think there was some good mixes of FPS and RPG (S.T.A.L.K.E.R.)...
But in this case you forced to chose and somehow I look at fallout more as RPG then to FPS. I don't know why, style(?), Engine(?), Game-play(?)...
BTW: Question about upgrades... I have looked for some mods for dual wield a pistol and have found none... Or SMG... Is this in you thots in any way?

As for dual-wielding, it is currently out, not only is it unrealistic, the result would probably be a lot less cool then you think.

I would say that FO3 is a RPS. Role playing Shooter. Its almost the same as a Rpg, but with the Fps system involved.
So you still saying, that Fallout 3 is more RPG, than FPS...
No really. Fallout 3 is a RPS.. Its documented.. Its a role playing shooter. Its a role playing game, with the combat system of FPS. So no i am not saying it is more of a RpG than FPS. Because it is a mix.
I'm not saying about its gender... I'm saying about this situation, if you have to chose one of two features, when one is more FPS (Iron sight simply adds visual zoom effect to help to aim), while other is more RPG (By modifying weapon to fit your role of thief by adding silencers to all weapons). In this case I could chose one that, I think, more fits games stile. In this case he's more RPG, than FPS...
I would really like to see the iron sights for the weapons before additional weapons. It seems like the Vanilla weapons should be finished with ironsights before making the weapons system.

well why cant you have iron sights as a WMK? or just have the default be iron sights.. cause I feel like for it to be realistic, you should be able to mod a weapon. I mean if it was the post apocalypse and i was trying to survive, i'd WANT to be able to get a decent hunting rifle and tape on a scope from a destroyed Home Depot. Know what i mean?
Because the WMK and iron-sights would cause problems with your game, if combined. You can use the scope on any modded weapon, obviously, but no iron-sights.

If you're still taking in votes, I'll say ironsights would be my first priority, though I would like some customization too if that were at all possible.
I haven't played FO3 in a little while (I mostly play it whenever there's a new release of the bigger mods that I play, heh), so I don't remember exactly how this stuff works internally, but wouldn't it be possible to have weapons be customized on creation through the crafting system, and still have ironsights? Or is that already what's being discussed as mutually exclusive?

Ironsights are based of weapon animations, which take custom models. The reason for this is because of the positioning of certain weapons, and the fact that most guns have no actual iron-sights.
However, while V7 is focused on adding weapon mods in, V8 will hopefully focus on iron-sights and a more in-dept clothing system.
So, I wish I could have both features right now, but at the moment, it's impossible.
