Today is sunday, and it happens to be Thanksgiving for canadians, so we bring you more media like every other sunday that isn't Thanksgiving. Anyways, this week I will be releasing some map concepts (*hears excited cries*) and a new model from one of our long lost members who decided to come back (because we kick so much ass). So... on with the media!! We have 3 map concepts by Jay-B of NGM ship interiors, these include hallways, doors and a shot of the lower levels of a ship. We also have 3 shots of the UTF Hackbox, modelled and skinned by Sveppe, who left the team for a little while, but decided to come back and brought some kick ass art with him.

That's it for this weekend, and for all those canadians out there: Happy Thanksgiving (woohoo! long weekend). Until next week, when we should be releasing some sweet pics of the UTF Grenade Launcher by Dete.

As usual, very elegant and highdetailed artwork: fantastic work.

But I feel mappers may have is own ideas, and you can work to generate mapmodels or something to negate topics:
- tigh metal corridors
- crates
- more crates

I myself, think can be cool adding flags here and there, with a vent near, and a animation. Also can be a good idea to think about the phisics interactions hl2 engine provide. Maybe you can have HUGE HUGE HUGE corridors with halffways on sides,... hallways that huge that defender robots can patrol it. Or something heerrr... something.

Again: your work is fantastic!

All brilliant work!

One thing though: Please don't go and make the interior of the ships like a Doom 3 level - uninspired hallways over ad nauseam; make sure they have some great landmarks and are full of recognizable areas! :)

Are those map concepts really concepts? Or are they just maps that you have screencaped and used the Photoshop cutout effect on? And possibly a film grain.

Those are some nice models. PsychoBrat, as long as you can see without a flashlight, it will be better than doom 3. I mean, you would think that in doom 3 they would be advanced enough to have a flashlight BUILT INTO the guns.

Finch, they look like Natural Selection textures used on a custom map, then photoshopped with a posterize effect

jackson : I am pretty sure it is still the cutout and film grain combonation ;) Either way, it gives me a good feel for the game. I have been waiting for this game for quite a while now.

Yes indeed that is a HL1 map with photoshop filters applied to it. It is indeed art, not a map per se...

Trust me guys, everything won't be tight together... For NGM there will be crates around, little things like magazines added on the floors etc etc

The UTF will be more neat/clean and have shinier hallways etc

They also won't be that dark really... The lighting was done in photoshop...

For example though, we want some rooms to be large enough, where a sniper rifle would be an effective weapon...
