The fourth alpha of Estranged, including new content and polished gameplay.
Posted by AlanEdwardes on Aug 24th, 2012
Today I'm releasing Estranged Alpha #4 of Estranged! This version has a load of new content and updates to the main game. Below is an outline of a few major changes:
I've been putting a lot of my spare time into this release, and I hope you'll really enjoy playing it. There's a bit more story in this one, and I'm hoping to make it a much more gripping experience.
As before there's an opt-in statistics mechanism in this release, and this time I can track deaths! So hopefully I'll be able to make a pretty death heat map at some point which will help me better place healthkits and enemies.
I updated the installer on the 26/08/12 to fix an issue where you could press L and it'd spawn a magical light. Oops.
Thanks, and thank you for all of your support. It's worth it just to see and read about the responses people have to something I've made. I have no plans to stop creating content, it's just going to take time. There are ideas in the pipeline, so watch this space!
I'd like to thank Erik Nygren, Mark Andrews and Lyall Campbell especially for their contributions to the project. See contributors.txt and attribution.txt in the mod's root folder for full credits.
