The mod team decided that as a last treat to you for following us so closely during the MOTY awards and showing your support throughout the year, we'd capture a series of images for you showcasing the new DX9 effects, explosions, engine glows and tactical map in action.
These images are unedited except for the addition of our logo on them. What you see here is what you would see in game.
As always any comments, suggestions or questions are always welcomed!

The screenshots are much appreciated, but is there any chance of capturing some video of a similar setup to that battle?
You guys rock, cant wait to get in game. It certainly looks like it is going to be a very different play style than the current version of freeworlds.
Yep we plan to :)
Looking incredibly nice, good job on the engine updates :)
Thank you! FriendlyFire did a wonderful job on them.
This battle is too epic and awesome for my old PC :(
If it's a single core processor without a graphics card...that may be a yes :S
haha! good one! but will the minimum requirements be high? like crysis high? or what other game would you compare the requirements too?
Based on what I seen from testers and developers, the people who are unable to run the mod on max settings are the individuals with single core processors without a graphics card (which is normally perfectly fine for Vanilla Freelancer)
so then it will run lagg-free on my four core laptop with 2 gigs of RAM and 1 gig graphics card? yay!
What if it is a single core processor with a grafix card ? if so, what spec of graffix card would do ? I have 5 comps with single core and yet they have a one gig vid card.
Freelancer isn't all too good with utilizing dual-core CPUs; what's key is good performance per clock. Usually more recent processors have better per clock performance, so that's why we recommend dual-cores and up (if you want to run your own server for a LAN play, then a dual-core becomes nearly required). Pentium 4s can't compare with Core 2s clock for clock.
The GPU is what matters the most for client-side performance.
It'd be hard to give specs, but a *recommended* setup might be around a Core 2 Duo E6550 with a GeForce 8800GT or above (match with your favorite AMD parts as required). We will know for sure once the beta starts and our performance optimization/graphical enhancement process is completed.
She sure looks pretty.
I Want this NOW! :(
I have been here one time to ask for single player,i know its annoying, but please, just release a SP version, after this main version, a lot of people agreed with me , there must be a sp version, even if it takes a year for the release,i`ll wait
You will be able to launch a local server to play in an open universe.
just play local. there will still be npc´s to fight and jobs to do :)
Exactly. I think we'll also include a functionality called "Local Game" that will automatically launch your own server with some default settings.
really? thats great, because my computer have difficulties when i try to use the FL server launcher. thanks!
nice screens
That looks absolutely gorgeous! I'm constantly flabbergasted by your improvements on the engine - can't wait for this!
