This weekend starts Australia's largest video games expo at the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre. Visitors will be able to enter in a door prize to try and win a new Yamaha sound system or a Scorptec Venom PC.

Both Crysis and Assassins Creed will be showcased there, and Mass Effect will be playable to the public for the first time.

Sony will be there with Playstation 3 titles such as Haze and will be hosting an online game tournament.

Nintendo will also be there showcasing upcoming Wii and DS titles and of course Brain Training games because it's the home of Nicole Kidman.

Auran Games will be there showcasing Fury. It's their home turf so hopefully people will welcome the unique game to the convention.

Various Universities will also be on hand to help visitors get information on how to get a job in the industry. You can go to www.egamesexpo.com.au for all the hours and registration information.

Intense, why would I want to beat the crap out of you? I said the site was good, its just the lack of control panel and the crappy interface due to the lack of the control panel (ie. those crappy little icons that are confusing as heck) need to be changed.

Is this an event that happens every year? If it is, i'll be sure to go. I can't this year, one of the many pains of living too far away. :-(

It looks like it, this is the second year, but with the popularity of last years event and the marketing of this years event, i'm sure we'll be seeing it next year too.

Annual Event... Awesome!!! I'll be in Ballarat next year so it will be a shorter drive than a 4 hour drive i would currently have to do. Thanx for answering my question Wraiyth.

Unfortunately couldn't afford the trip to melbourne this year. Last two events were great, rubbing shoulders with lots of cool industry peeps.

I expect a fully fledged report from whoever goes!
