Okay so. Important plans.
0.2.4 is nearing completion. As it stands, it isn't a big update like 0.2.0, 0.2.3, etc. This is because, much like I have explained before we are working on an "amazing" engine for Crawle, therefore adding anything huge would be pointless.
As you may have noticed Pb has been posting a few updates, one of the big things he's done is lighting. I was working on a lighting engine, but now there's really no point.
I'm not going to promise anything apart from an amazing new engine but I can tell you now that me and Pb are planning something big, really big. And again, this is going to take time. Assuming you've been following us since.. uh.. November.. or something like that you would know that it took me 3 months to put out 0.2.0 which was back then, huge, absolutely huge. But this is going to be bigger. That I can say.
Okay so back to 0.2.4. I've been doing as many code clean-ups, optimisations and finishing touches as possible. One of the final things I've added is "permadeath".
Our initial plan was to have a variety of modes, one being hardcore mode which would be permadeath. However,we've changed our plans to all modes having permadeath. Though I'd like your opinions on it.
I've also done a few more things:
- Fixed villages (to an extent).
- Added corners to stone floors on houses.
0.2.4 Changelog:
# GRAPHICAL CHANGES
- Gave the player sprite some clothes.
- Changed font of the world names in the world selection menu.
# CHANGES
- Days are now around 10 mins long.
- Villagers now become ghosts instead of zombies.
# FIXES
- Villagers appearing in dungeons.
- Chests spawning outside dungeon rooms.
- Fixed villages (to an extent).
# ADDITIONS
- Tentative day/week system.
- Tentative torch system.
- New font (to be used in certain areas).
- Escape to view options.
- Travelling merchant.
- Tentative inventory system.
- Mode scaling.
- Permadeath on all modes.
- Added corners to stone floors on houses.
This is to inforce the realism and survival aspects of the game which is essentially what the game is. Anyway, bear with us while we work on this next patch, you will honestly not regret it, this is a huge step for Crawle and Sleepy Studios as a whole and I personally can't wait.
So, I once again would like to advertise Sleepy Studios to help you keep updated on these huge new updates:

You should make the Trees go in front of the light, it would be a nice touch.
