Well it has to come to this at some point. It’s annoying, but I need to update you all about the status of the mod. It is with regret that I must announce that our newest developer Lodu has decided to leave the team for personal reasons, but due to a clash of styles between us here at War Chronicles and how Lodu is used to working in the past means he’s decided to split from us to pursue projects new and not to contribute his work to the mod. We’re wishing him luck for the future, and we’d rather tell you guys than disappoint you.

However! All is not lost. Like the British coming back from Dunkirk to fight the enemy on the beaches of Normandy 4 years later, we here at War Chronicles are not out of this fight yet! We’re going to take this opportunity to update you all about some of the newer assets we have coming up, including a sneak peak at some of our new vehicles!

Our British Infantry have been receiving some love since the last time I posted, with the 1937 pattern infantry webbing so beloved and bemoaned by Tommies throughout the conflict taking shape in Arma 3 under the watchful guidance of WelshStalker, a modern ‘Tom’ himself! The most modular of the webbing setups in WW2, the 1937 Pattern webbing was the forerunner of a lot of webbing systems used around the world today, with PLCE (the modern webbing of the British Army) being able to directly trace its linage back to this canvas and brass braced system.

Also to show off is the fact we almost have a working German MG in the game for you fans of such things. Our MG34 is currently awaiting a little touching up, and a config, but it is on it’s way! As a little bonus, we’re also working on a G41 & G43, the German answer to the American M1 Garand, to give German NCOs a choice of small arms.

Although overshadowed by it’s much more famous cousin, the MG42, the MG34 was only just being phased out as staple machine-gun of the German army when the Allies landed in Normandy. As such, particularly in the American sector, the MG34 was the most common machine-gun for German units to be equipped with.

And finally, with our progress on the infantry and their small arms remaining at pretty much a steady pace and most assets passed to be configured and textured, we’ve dispatched our team of trained model wranglers onto preparing some of the new vehicles. The vehicle list we are currently planning for the full version of the mod has everything from static machine guns up to heavy tanks on it, but we’re only working on the infantry’s vehicles for this particular update.

Pictured above are the first draft versions of the Sd.Kfz 251/1, the German half-track, and the Kubelwagen. We’re also working on an Opel Blitz logistics vehicle, the British Bren Carrier, an Allied Forces Jeep and the American M3A1 Half Track, as well as a GMC and a Bedford QLT. So plenty on! You may even get a few anti-tank guns (Pak 40, 6 Pounder Gun) thrown in at some point, with the ability to tow them behind vehicles. Hang fire and stand by on that for now, as we’re still planning quite how we intend to implement those!

Coming soon to a mod near you!

As such, although the departure of a skilled texture artist is always a sad occasion, we’re far from dead and looking forward to another great year of development. If you’d like to be involved with War Chronicles, and we’re always on the lookout for talented people. Thanks for sticking with us, we’ll see you on the Battlefield!

Looks like you are just copying everything that Day of Infamy is doing.

Also, theres really no point in showing unfinished untextured assets in a news update.

for the Sd.Kfz. 251 how many variants do you plan on making? like the Mortar version, the 2cm FlaK gun, radio communication/ command, munition panzer (or wait... was that that 250 one I was thinking about).
ya don't gotta be specific just gimme a number an I'm fine.

also for Statics, I know '34 and '42 will have there heavy tripod verion but for Yanks the .30cal MG had two brother fighting together the M1919, of course, but there was the M1917 as well and I ask is the '17 "on the list" since it's practically the same gun but water-cooled and older model.

I admire the Dunkirk spirit here. Reading those first few lines had me panicked for a second, bringing back horrible memories of the Imperial Assault mod. I wish you guys the very best of luck. Judging by your little weapon sample you put out in December, you guys do some great work.

How will you guys be dealing with aiming? will it be standard where the you are always pointing in one direction? or will you guys make it no crossair with a aiming deadzone system like Resistance and liberation had?

they also had three levels of shooting. From the hip, sholdered, and full sighted. shouldered had the aiming deadzone with limited area of play while full sighted had you essentially one eye closed and their was zero aim deadzone play
