The first new map to introduce today one is Sarge Surfat's "Koufra Raid". In February of 1941 a column of the Free French Forces, supported by Blenheim Bombers of the RAF, under the command of Captain (and later General) Leclerc advanced 1600 kilometres from northern Chad to the Koufra oasis in southern Libya in order to capture it. The oasis was of strategic importance and manned by Italians, using its airfield for transport sorties to supply troops in Eastern Africa. The French besieged Fort El Tag, and after some fighting and shelling the fort with artillery the Italians finally surrender.

The map "Burma Road" made by Yamamoto is about the Japanese invasion of the British colony of Burma and the expulsion of the Commonwealth troops from the country. The objective of this invasion was the interruption of the supply line of the National Revolutionary Army along the Burma road, the last remaining land connection. Additionally the Japanese wanted to secure the south-western flank of their expansion area. The map features a nice jungle ambience and new statics.

Our last map for today, which was also created by Yamamoto, is not based on actual events but on a legend: During the war, the Japanese General Yamashita looted great amounts of gold, valuables, artworks and cash and hid them somewhere. Until today it is unknown what happened to this treasure - Yamashita took this secret with him to his grave. In our map we're speculating that his loot had been hidden on an unknown island, guarded be elite soldiers and the last array of weaponry Japan had to offer. The US Marines are trying to capture the treasure. All three maps also offer Coop support.

That is all for today and the last remaining thing to do is to wish you a lot of fun playing this new version. You will be able to find download mirrors in the release news which will be posted on the 20th of October. Please also check for informations in our forum which will permanently be updated. There you can also post bugs and improvement suggestions which we will gather for a patch. The MOB server will be switching over to running the new version in the next few days - only the new maps will be available for online play in the first few days after release to get you all used to them.
