A key feature for a good defense system is the ability to create mine fields. So far, AvP2 allowed a marine armed with a grenade launcher to put two types of mines:
- spider grenades
- proximity mines.
The problem with them is that they were triggered by any player that came close to them.
AvP2 Team Fortress changes that: a mine placed by the blue demolitions will only be triggered by red team players, and viceversa. Here's a video, showcasing just that:
See you on Friday,

What Key do u press to go third person? in normal avp2?
Well, you need to do some changes first in one of the configuration files. More details on this mod tutorial:

Hope that answers the question.
Great!! You are doing a great work guys!!
Thanks! Stay tuned for this Friday's build.
AvP2 doesn't have a software SDK, does it? Just a level editor, right?
A level editor, and a model tool. There was also a software SDK released for it.
how's that to work with? I loved the AvP games. my son killed one of my AvP2 discs years ago. I was pretty upset. :)
The level editor (DEdit) is quite nice, and with it alone you can still do a lot of interesting stuff (see Herralien.co.nr ).
The ModelEdit tool however is mostly used for the final touches in bringing new models in AvP2.
You should know however that my opinion is biased: AvP2 is the first/only game I build modifications for.
Really nice job! I really love AVP2, shame there weren't more mods for it.
There are mods for AvP2. Pay a visit to www.avp2files.com , see what they have there.
