Should only adult people be baptised, and by full immersion?

So, should only adult people be baptised, fully aware, knowing the Bible and its rules well, or shouldn't? Is baptism of children an indoctrination to the religion of sort (not a free choice)?

Adult baptism by immersion Adult baptism

What do you think about it?

On the point that I remember, at least on the Catholic Church, the early baptism was to introduce the kid to the religion and the chrism was more like a... confirmation. Also wasn´t needed the full immersion.

The reason for baptism as a child is so that original sin is removed as soon as possible. It is a precaution in case the person dies before they reach the age of reason.

Children have no idea about whats right and whats wrong, so they cannot be sinful because of that, also remember how much Jesus LOVED children...well he loved them because they had no knowledge of good and evil, they believe God better then adults, they don't sin intentionally knowing that it's wrong, and they are not skeptical about God's power like adults are.

I agree with both the above comments. I'll also mention this: most people are highly likely to develope the same attitudes and beliefs that their parents have. Since that's not indoctrination (into religion or other ideas) then I don't think having your child baptised is either.

Besides, that person can still make their own choice about religion later... whether baptised or not.

yes but when you want to leave the Catholic church then they get mad at you (they=family, priests, etc) also many people think that the Catholic church is the one and only church but thats wrong because the head of their church is the pope (tell me if I'm wrong) while Jesus is the head of a normal Protestant church sees Jesus as the head of their church.

The Catholic church is the church that is spoken about in Revelations. It says that the ***** church lies in the city of seven hills which is mostly known as Rome. I know there are about 60 cities in the world that also claim to be built on seven hills but Rome is the city of the Catholic Church which we all know has had big part in taking away and adding to Word of God.

Forgot to mention, there is no single occurrence of child baptism in the Bible. Only adults were baptised by full immersion.

One can also note the difference between the Christian baptism and Judaic ablution, washing of hands.

Didn't the thief on the cross enter Heaven when he accepted Jesus as Saviour? Perhaps baptism is the acceptance of Christ. John baptized with water but John answered all those who thought he was The Messiah, "I baptize you with water. But one more powerful than I will come, the thongs of whose sandals I am not worthy to untie. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire."

I think this says that Christ baptizes people himself and if the thief on the cross is anything to go by, acceptance of Christ is baptism itself.

Biblically only born again Christians should get baptized. First Holy Spirit baptizes them which we call new birth but immersion in water which happens after that is just a symbol, nothing more. It only points to a real thing. Remember that John the Baptist said that he only baptized with water; Jesus baptized with the Holy Spirit. Gospel of John gives great insight. :)

Repentance, then water baptism, and then baptism of the Holy Spirit is how Peter explained it to people on the day of Pentecost. But some get the Holy Ghost first and then get water baptized. That's how I did it. Spoke in tounges first after repentance and then I took the plunge. So great.

Full immersion and in Jesus's name is how it's done. That's how they did in it in the New Testament and that's how it was until Constantine changed it in 328AD I believe was the year. He changed it to where you used the phrase "in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost" which completely misses the point that Jesus was trying to make. Children don't need baptism until they are aware of what it means.
