With the purchase of my new computer, comes replaying SCFA and thus, more modding :p

Posted by on

Well hello everybody!

Last week, I got myself a new dekstop (the old one was suffering from performance issues...) and so, after reinstalling SCFA, I've started playing the original campaign again. However, I really didn't like it as much as my edited one, and thus I got the files from my old computer and started to get going again!

With my new files, I'm playing all the missions over again. And, as the public might have noticed a long time ago, there were some bugs in my edits, which i'm trying to resolve. Also, I'm editing new stuff like a correct way for Celene to re-expand in mission 2.

So, you might have guessed it.... Version 4.0 is coming up! I don't know when it'll be online, but it'll take a week or two max.

I hope you enjoy this newspost, and I hope I still got some fans after 11 months... xD

Sounds Great, Will Skirmish AI also be affected?

No. As usual, only the AI in campaign missions will be changed :)

New to the modding scene for SupCom FA and I haven't tried this out yet, but I look forward to it. I was wondering if you could share how alliances work in the campaign? What you do to set allies/enemies if you know. It would be helpful as I'm trying something out myself on the modding front.

Thanks for your work that you shared with the community!

You can preset alliances in the _save.lua file, or edit them in the script later on in the mission if you want :) This is done via

SetAlliance([army1], [army2], 'Settings')
for example: SetAlliance(Player, Fletcher, 'Enemy')
Keep in mind that the armies are always integer values, Player and Fletcher (and others) refer to those values. Other alliance settings are 'Ally' and 'Neutral'

Thanks a ton, mate! That really helped me out :) I'll play with it some to see what I can do/come up with.
