A little bit of history...

This mod began development and was intended to be released in the year of 2007. Unfortunately due to disorganization and issues with the design lead, development stopped and the team disintegrated. It began development again in 2009 but quickly stopped because of lack of resources and a lack of design structure. Finally, in 2011 we were able to gather a somewhat more consistent team, and began consistent development on it again. Unfortunately, most of the recruited developers fell through, leaving only two programmers and one level designer to finish off the project. The size of the team probably prolonged the mod's progression even more; some weeks would yield no progress in between development. However, we are finally near a finish, and as I promised a few friends, I would post it on ModDB today.

This mod has approximately two years of work (in hours) and is the product of my experience in the Unreal Engine. I was on the original team and took charge of it later on. None of the maps included are derived from the original work of 2007-2009; the earliest in fact began in early 2011, and have since been renovated and revised multiple times. There are few files and concepts that were taken from the older work. Thanks for reading.

About the Mod

We've taken great effort into separating Zenith from the notion of stock Unreal style single player campaigns. This campaign has 15 entirely new levels (not including non-mission levels), with everything from a few new weapons, monsters, environments, to unorthodox styles of play, and includes: optional quests, a market system, allied monsters, more player-involved levels (that is, the player's choices are more important), etc.

...The release date has been postponed as previously announced.

Hey guys, I just wanted to post to inform everyone that we're now in the process of constructing a work list to release the first non beta version of the mod... I just want to make sure we have everything under the umbrella. We appreciate the feedback from your comments because that gives us an idea of what to fix or any recommendations or bug reports. So far this is what we have:

  • Complete remake of ZENITH2
  • Complete remake of ZENITHBoss1
  • Adjust Hover vehicle physics
  • Nerf ZENITH1Part3 Tunnelway fight / better flux
  • Remake of intro cutscene
  • Some cutscenes will be deleted
  • Default weapon re-script
  • Voice level adjustments
  • Fixes to reported bugs
  • Some market equation changes

Keep at it guys. Mod has great potential, but of course still needs quite a bit more work; perhaps scale back on the scope and size of maps and start refining. Will be tracking on here and UnrealSP.

If you need to, just use the Zenith tab under Mods in the UT menu instead of running it directly, or use Oldskool Amp'd and start a new game that way.

That doesn't sound good...Try changing video render, unless it works on other maps. If it (UT) doesn't work on other maps and yields the same error, you might have to re-install, if not I'll take a good look at it.

This is an issue involving the way Unreal loads its saves...in order to fix it, go to your UT system directory (C:\...\UnrealTournament\System) and open UnrealTournament.ini

Next, find the section named [Engine.GameInfo] and under that section change the MaxPlayers from 16 to 32.

The upcoming patch should fix this error completely.
