nice piece although it sounds a bit to up beat and hopeful to me as something that is meant to convey a sense of defeat, I would try Mozart's Requiem - Lacrimosa Youtube.com or something more like it, you might also use Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata.

I'd have to agree. The music just sounds too happy. It made me smile, in fact. Also, the instrumentation doesn't really fit the era or the setting (not that it has to be totally authentic).

I really dont like these, they sounds so modern. Like something out of the "Transformer" movie. I suggest maybe using music from Call of Duty, Call of Duty 2. Saving Private Ryan, Band of Brothers. Even though these are for ww1 I think they fit better than some techno rock. This is also pretty good: youtube.com/watch?v=nUzA1K2GkaM And maybe some other piano intrumentals. Mozart Requiem. Bethoven Moonlight sonata. Music like that is perfect! Use this istead of transformer music :D

this is a proposed tune I have been playing that I think would fit for a "defeated" setting and mood
