World in Conflict is perhaps the most audacious project that has ever been embarked upon for Rise of Nations. It will implement real-world realism into Information Age warfare. This includes radical changes to graphics, units stats and all around game-play.

Description

The US Marines are the crack infantry arm of the US navy and the tip of America's sword. They have been involved in conflicts since the inception of the American nation; whenever a conflict arises they are the first ones in and the last ones out. Marines are high quality troops, probably more hardier than their army counterparts. In-game this is represented by Marine infantry having more hit points and Marine infantry being able to entrench after a few seconds. However Marine Infantry can only be recruited on maps that have oceans as they require the naval base building to be built, the naval base can only be built on sea tiles like a dock. Pictured here are the Marines one can command in the Beta along with their support vehicles, they are currently wearing MARPAT woodland camo, but they will also be given MARPAT desert and snow camo soon.

A. Marine Riflemen are armed with rifles and carbines. Like their army counterparts they can also throw frag grenades. They are powerful when massed.

B. Marine Heavy Infantry are armed with rifles/carbines and the SMAW rocket launcher. They can make quick work of enemy vehicles.

C. Marine Support Infantry are armed with squad support weapons, in this case the M249 SAW and the M16A3 Equipped with a Grenade launcher. They can suppress and bombard enemy forces with relative ease.

D. Marine Scout Snipers come to the battlefield with their MK11 sniper rifles, the navy's varient of the SR-25. They can easily eliminate enemy's at range.

E. The AAV-7A1 is the current amphibious troop transport of the USMC. They have a limited attack with their electronic weapon station, but what they should be used for is ferrying marines to the battlefield. They have craft which can be used to deploy Marines.

F. The LAV-25 is an eight-wheeled amphibious reconnaissance vehicle used by the USMC. It has a 25mm chain gun and an electronic weapons station on its turret making it a terror against any type of enemy.
