Gameplay What kind of mod is World at War, exactly? Well, let's not throw around overused and stereotyped adjectives. The mod is not "realistic", nor is it "arcadey" or "deathmatchy." Nor is the mod strictly fast-paced or slow. World at War is a tactical shooter, and the gameplay will reflect the varied realities of a battlefield. Move slowly, create a strong point in some protected hills, and engage your enemy with enfilading fire at long range... or hop into your Humvee, dash up a hill into an opposing camp, and hose down anything that moves while firing your small arms from the windows. Creep, crawl, amble, or charge... the choice is yours. World at War will achieve this by giving you a varied arsenal suited to many tasks. Rifles will be accurate at long range, and sniper rifles even more so... machineguns will be ideal for suppressing fire and covering open spaces... carbines will balanced all-around weapons... and pistols will be a typical last resort....
