This mod serves as a fan-made, unofficial expansion pack for Wolfenstein 3D that contains 30 new levels, 10 levels in each new episodes, two new guns (both that can be located on the original levels too) and an automap for orientation purposes. It'll be made for both DOS and SDL engines and the planned release date is May 05, 2022.
Expanding upon the features of the 30th Anniversary Edition, the Definitive Edition brings so much more fun in both visual and gameplay-wise, with improved gunplay and hitscan that allows enemies to hit each other by accident, and in rare scenarios makes them fight with each other. Fullscreen support with an user-friendly mini HUD for those who really want to admire those pixels. Textured flats that brings the maximum out of every environment possible on every level, combined with the distant shading and items or ceiling lights that can emit light, both can be turned on or off depending on how the player wants to experience the game. And so much more...
The "Iron Fist missions" that explain the events that resulted in Blazkowicz's captivity in Castle Wolfenstein. A story so dark and twisted, that is, if it turns out to be true. Gossips claim a mad scientist is experimenting on the dead in hopes to bring them back to life under the control of the Third Reich in order to win the war, but who knows, maybe there's more to the story than meets the eye, something even darker and twisted. B.J. is tasked to infiltrate Castle Hollehammer and find the plans for Operation: Eisenfaust, but it ain't gonna be so easy, thanks to the soldiers guarding it. Fight against nazi soldiers, mutants and other horrendous creatures as you wander through caves, dungeons and classy castles in the episodes "Shadows Watching" "Plan: Siegreich" and "Apocalypse"!
With the Spear of Destiny mission pack that also turned 30, it was about time to integrate it into this release, but that's not everything! Experience this mission pack with the brand new features the Definitive Edition has to offer and with brand new levels to blaze through!
Nazis captured the legendary item, The Spear of Destiny, mastering the occult powers of the item in Castle Nuremberg, until B.J. arrives to ruin the Führer's desires, but in order to do that he has to fight through the heavy resistance personel within the Castle, including the heavy armored Trans Grösse, the castle's jailor Barnacle Wilhelm, a well known scientist's horrendous creation called the Übermutant, and the protector of the Spear and commander of the Castle, the Death Knight and who knows what else...
Minor changes were made to the automap: - The automap now show which direction the player's facing. - With the Map Scroll item the automap show unexplored...
Fixed out of place objects and some adlib sounds leaving a lingering sound effect. Updated readme because of missing credits.

Have you heard of the GZDoom Total Conversion of Wolf 3D think you can add compatibility with that if it's not a problem sorry to bother you again
Good afternoon! Could you make the sprites from your mod available?
Just a suggestion, but I think in the definitive edition "The Spear of Destiny!" should instead be called "Spear Missions" to fit with the rest better
I was thinking about that, but since Spear is just a single mission, I dropped that idea.
Why not port this to ECWolf since it's the most popular Wolfenstein 3D source port? Maybe add ECWolf support for the definitive edition?
Just because it's popular doesn't mean it should be the port of choice when it comes to some of the features, you see, scripting does have its boundaries.
Besides, I see no reason to release an ECWolf port, since the SDL port can already do every feature of why people tend to use ECWolf for, you've got an automap, modern controls and aspect ratio options (which isn't fully supported yet).
Will the definition edition include the encounters and the second and third mission packs?
No.
Wait why not Return to Danger and Ultimate Challenge?
Because they are pretty awful in quality, to me they feel like those early mods that were sold for money that did nothing, but replace graphics and maps, and it also would be way too much work to integrate every inch of them than what it's worth.
Maybe in the far distant future, but it's pretty unlikely that I will ever touch them.
ok also if so why is spear of destiny listed as a trilogy?
It's because of how segmented the Spear levels are.
Tunnels
Dungeons
Castle
So, if you pick episode 3, you'll start the game on Floor 11.
